If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I like to tackle the mental battles with this health journey... and share my experiences with them. I’ve tackled body dysmorphia, food addiction, and today I’m addressing calorie and macro counting. I narrate why I think it’s a negative way to approach this journey I also share my approach to stopping and the steps I took.

Now before I have the macro counters coming at me, let me assure you, I’ve counted before.... and this piece is solely based off my experience with it. I lost almost 100lbs (11 years ago) without counting a thing ... but shortly after losing the weight, my obsession for the “perfect, shredded physique” snowballed  and led me to counting for a few years while on this journey. I say all this to say, I’ve been there, and at one point was a big advocate. But I’ve come to realize one thing - assigning a number to your food sucks and there are serious mental side effects that come with it. In this post, I detail why it’s not a lifestyle I want to live, or advocate for.

On the left is an obsessed, critical, and cynical girl who counted every thing she put in her mouth very early on in her journey.  The gal on the right is someone who’s been living a balanced and healthy lifestyle for about 7 years. Sometimes she shredded, sometimes she’s not. And while she’s not as lean, she’s in a much happier place ❤️ The curves don’t hurt either 😏

The moral is not to let your failiures ruin you. Use them to make you stronger💪🏾 Everyone has to fail to succeed. However....this doesnt mean you cant hate failure, you just have to do something positive with that energy!

- 9 Colheres de sopa de farinha de aveia
- 1 Colher de sopa de azeite
- açafrão, sal à gosto
- 3 Colheres de sopa de de água
- 1 Colher de chá de fermento
Recheio
- 80g frango desfiado.
- 30g queijo mussarela
- 3 Colheres de sopa de requeijão light. ✨

Para a massa: misture os ovos, a farinha, o azeite, os temperos, a água e mexa com a colher. Por ultimo, coloque o fermento. Após isso, unte uma forma, coloque metade da massa, em seguida o recheio (frango, queijo, requeijão...) Coloquei um pouco de queijo por cima também! Cubra com o restante da massa. Leve ao forno por +/- 20/25 min ou até dourar! BOM APETITE ❤️

Physical, mental or even emotional growth never comes from comfort zones. You have to step out of what may be comfortable to you, you have to take risks. You have to fail, you have to succeed and you have to learn. The only way to do so is to put yourself out there, take that step, as uncomfortable it may be, it is necessary and a part of growing. 
You will have the ability to learn from each step further from comfort, you will grow and become a better version of yourself. 
I remember back in the day when I truly struggled with this. I was shy and afraid to fail. I over analyzed everything. I stuck to what was comfortable and I saw little to no progress in all aspects of life. The moment I convinced myself to be put into uncomfortable situations, literally asked for them, my life changed. I began to accept change and uneasiness and I grew into a whole new person. Yes, I failed, I failed at a lot but I learned from each failure and from each failure I progressed.

Go out, do something you normally wouldn't, be open minded and succeed.

INGREDIENTS
* 2  lbs  collard greens🌱
* 4 -5  garlic cloves, minced🥚
* 1  large onion, chopped
* 3  cups  vegetable stock🥃
* 1  teaspoon salt (to taste)
* 1  teaspoon  smoked sweet paprika♥️
* 1⁄2 cup apple cider vinegar🍎

DIRECTIONS
1. Wash greens well🌱, submerging in a sink full of cold water 💦 to remove any dirt and grit. Drain well. Cut off the stems right where the leaf 🍃 starts. Stack about 5-8 leaves on top of eachother, then roll lengthwise. Cut🔪 rolled up leaves into 1" slices widthwise. Repeat until all the greens are done, and add to a large pot.
2. Add all other ingredients. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat🔥, then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 45 minutes or until greens🌱 are extremely tender. Serve hot, using a slotted spoon to drain the liquid from the greens.

INGREDIENTS * 2  lbs  collard greens🌱 * 4 -5  garlic cloves, minced🥚 * 1  large onion, chopped * 3  cups  vegetable stock🥃 * 1  teaspoon salt (to taste) * 1  teaspoon  smoked sweet paprika♥️ * 1⁄2 cup apple cider vinegar🍎 . DIRECTIONS 1. Wash greens well🌱, submerging in a sink full of cold water 💦 to remove any dirt and grit. Drain well. Cut off the stems right where the leaf 🍃 starts. Stack about 5-8 leaves on top of eachother, then roll lengthwise. Cut🔪 rolled up leaves into 1" slices widthwise. Repeat until all the greens are done, and add to a large pot. 2. Add all other ingredients. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat🔥, then reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer for 45 minutes or until greens🌱 are extremely tender.
