Happy Friday beauties 🦄. Today I went to a yoga class instead of my usual Friday routine at the gym. This is something I had been wanting to do for quite some time now but had kept putting it off because i felt this sense of 'guilt'. I am a creature of habit and hate breaking my routine. For so long I had it ingrained in my mind that I had to lift an X amount of days or do X amount of cardio to actually be considered 'fit'. In the past, yoga would have been something I did on a rest day.
Today I finally put my foot down. I knew I needed to put my mental health first and move my body in the way it was craving. Which was stretching and connecting my mind with my body.
I am finally learning there are no rules to fitness. It's a damn blessing to be able to move my body in a way I want. To realize I am fit in my own way. And you are fit in your own way.
However you choose to move your body is fitness. Those so called 'rules' are not what make you fit. It's what makes you feel damn good physically and mentally.
P.S. I am that person who will randomly come up and ask to pet your dog. 🐶

Drop sets are a great way to get in more volume per workout and up the intensity.
While dropsets are useful for certain movements, the downside is that you're not able to build as much strength as just doing straight sets.

For my clients who struggle with reducing their intake when wanting to loose weight I really focus on the education of where calories are coming from......A lot of my clients say they feel like they are eating more than ever whilst loosing weight with me.... simply down to calorie education. Surely a sandwich, an apple and popcorn is more satisfying than one sandwich?
Being smart with your calories can help you achieve your goal. Eating well doesn't have to mean eating less. It doesn't have to mean RESTRICTING. It can mean making smart choices and making the most of your calories.
Food prep can be a hassle but can help so much when working towards specific goals whether that be weight loss or gain. There are no added ingredients that you are unaware of and you hve complete control of what goes into your meal. SWIPE RIGHT- SUPERMARKET SANDWICH VS HOMEMADE - both egg mayonnaise, both 2 slices of bread... so what's the difference?
How can 2 sandwiches have such a difference in calories and be so similar?
This is simply to remind you how preparing your own food can help you so much when working towards your goals... often shop bought foods have lots of extra unnecessary ingredients and calories in.
SHOP BOUGHT - sandwich contains 485 calories however it doesn't seem any bigger than the homemade option... the only difference will be the use of sauces and again INVISIBLE CALORIES.
HOMEMADE - 324 cal 2 slice wholemeal bread, 1 egg, 50g egg whites, cress and extra light mayonnaise
