It's likely the most commonly asked question for myself and I'm sure most fitness enthusiasts. How are you always so motivated?!

My answer: I'm not. I have to create my motivation and evaluate my "why" over and over again. When I was competing it wasn't an option. It just had to get done. Now that I'm not prepping for the stage I find it even harder to find my why to get to the gym sometimes. Torn between just push through and maybe a few rest days would do me good. I have off days, even off weeks sometimes. This week was one of those weeks.  I considered taking some time off from the gym to reignite that spark for lifting and break the cycle of stale feeling lifts I've been having. Yet somehow I still ended up here. Why? Because sometimes it's not about the programming, or the progress. There's a ton of other things I could be doing on a Friday night but when I thought about what would make me feel best the answer was loud music in my headphones, letting everything go from the week and just getting lost in my own world, moving and taking care of my body and mind. .

Goblet squats are perfect for building core strength, improving mobility, and perfecting technique for when its time to get back to heavier back (and front) squats. Goblet squats are probably one of the easiest variations of squats (and have low injury risk due to the anterior loading of the weight), but can be made more challenging by increasing weight or even adding a band above knees and focusing on keeping knees wide throughout the rep. .

#fitnessvlog 10-18-17 stopped at the #anytimefitness in St. Clairsville OH for a great workout on the way back to Indiana. The road to my 60th birthday #sprinttriathlon and unassisted #pullups is passing through numerous Anytime Fitness locations. Looking forward to being back home tomorrow night.

My training has changed A LOT over the past year. Ive gone through a season of growth and a season of cutting. Both of which require specific exercises to build/condition my body. Where am I at now you may ask? 🤔Good question, Im not sure I fully know myself right now (time to set new goals- we'll save that for another post) but I’d say somewhere in between. . . .
⌛️👉🏼There’s a time and a place to go heavy (Im working my way back) but theres also so much to gain from high volume sets focusing on dialing in the perfect form. . .

Everyone knows what a preworkout does and I don’t want to rhyme off ingredients off the label that you can find off the 1st Phorm website so I’ll give you a more personal reason why this is a necessity for me right now. -
First, the energy blend is potent but not to a point that it makes you feel gross like other preworkouts. On mornings that I have to get up at 5am or earlier to film my workout this gives me the boost I need while still letting me have my coffee with breakfast later on. For anyone who wants to hit the gym before work and still have that cup of coffee mid morning this is the preworkout for you, trust me! Also, I’m completely comfortable having this if I happen to hit the gym at 6 or 7pm without fear of it keeping me up. MegaWatt gets me revved up for my workout both physically and mentally but doesn’t interfere with my day-to-day outside of the gym.

Second, the pump you get really surprised me. With half a daily serving of creatine and 1g of Agmatine it’ll give you a fantastic pump. Honestly, because of the amount of creatine in it I’m able to save my individual creatine supplement by only needing half a scoop 💰💰💰

Since being back at uni I have put a little weight on and am currently sat at 15% body fat which I’m not too happy about how ever I have been enjoying myself and spending time with my friends and so I do not resent it at all!✨ Life is all about balance my dears and some times you just need to take some time to yourself and really enjoy yourself✨

This week I am now back on track and I know I’ll soon get back to my 11% body fat and even improve on the body I had through the summer🖤

This is Orlagh, looking strong and showing us how to bang out a few pull-ups on a Wednesday morning.. 💪

It used to be singles and then progressively moving to doubles, and now with a bit of patience everything is starting to click with all movements..
i.e. Front Squats, Pull-ups, Deadlifts, Swings, Push-ups etc.. Today it was 3sets of 4reps, then dropping back to 4sets of 2reps (20 reps) to start her session after 10mins of Mobility and Activation work! 👌

How's your training going? Do you need to start monitoring your training more to see if your progressing forwards or are you just winging it?

When we are feeling tired it’s so easy to just forget about our exercise and lay back on the sofa but it’s times like this that we should force ourselves to go!

The more we exercise the more our body realises how much energy we actually need a day and so it becomes easier each week!

Depending on what time I finish in dance I may head to the gym for an arms, back & chest workout! If it’s too late it’ll have to wait until tomorrow✨
