Natural versus make up. One thing that makes me feel better about myself is makeup. And I know that's a terrible thing but I love seeing how I can transform my face into something different. Over the years I've slowly come to like my natural look, when I was a teenager I was so self conscious about having no makeup on, I would never leave the house without makeup on, or even let anyone see me without makeup. Now, most days I don't wear makeup because I don't have the time. Lmao. I've been avoiding Instagram because I got stuck in a rut and couldnt get out. But, I'm gunna try again to workout three times a week, even if it's just cardio. Doing something on my days off instead of being bored or eating. I really want to keep losing weight because, honestly, I'm not happy with where I'm at in life and I think that if I put my focus into one thing and acheive it, it will help me figure out everything else. A few snaps from day seven - #yogafix. Tomorrow we start all the workouts over again, so it felt great to stretch everything out and work on just breathing through movements. I did my first bind a few weeks ago in my practice with my amazing teacher, @hannahpresence and am excited I can now bind on both sides comfortably. Now just need to work on getting a deeper twist and opening the chest more while holding the pose. Happy Sunday friends. 🙏🏻

It's been an exhausting week with little sleep - not complaining as I do love cuddles at 2am and 3am and 4am, but it does mean making excuses not to workout becomes easier. Thankfully Willow napped for an hour this afternoon meaning I had no excuse not to hit play for 30 mins. ..... Today is day five: #cardiofix Each of these exercises were for a minute - two rounds of each with 20 second rest in between. I was a hot sweaty mess by the end. 💪🏻

Almost six months post partum.
I can't believe Ryan is almost 6 months! 
What I want people to understand (and it's soooo much more simple than the industry might portray it)... what ever your fitness journey may be (weight loss, muscle building, performance, strength, etc...) it takes PATIENCE. There is no magic pill or diet ,and you're not going to see your ending goal results after two weeks of working out. Sorry it's not going to happen... put in the WORK and TIME.
One step at a time. I personally focused on my calories and food after having Ryan. I still don't have a solid workout plan and squeeze it in where I can. I maximize the most of my workout time (focusing on lifting heavy  as Often as I can). When life gets crazy and I'm not able to workout, I am able to control what I eat and how much I eat. Any added workout is bonus and feeds the gains I'm working back to. 
It's easy to get frustrated, just know you're not the only one! If you need help, please don't hesitate to contact me. I've been there and I would love to help!

So I accidentally did Lower Fix yesterday and Upper Fix today - was supposed to be the other way around, oopsie. Didn't get to film yesterday but here is today's workout featuring Willow's watchful eye giving me encouragement. I used 3kg (6.6lbs) dumbbells for all exercises. Sped up 1.5x with a little victory dance at the end. Pretty proud I even managed this today seeing as Willow was up nearly every hour last night and I was running on 3 hours of sleep.

W O W. 😳 One month postpartum vs. five months postpartum! 😮 It is hard to look at the picture on the left...I was so excited to have my little love in my arms 💕 but the aftermath of having carried her for 9 months had me feeling so low. 👎🏻 I remember trying to delete this picture because I was so self conscious. I still looked pregnant 🤰🏻 but I wasn't, and between hormones and very unrealistic expectations of what my body should look like post baby 👶🏻, I was very unhappy with myself. 😔 It was hard to find them time and the energy to take care of me when I had a new baby that needed to be taken care of but it is a decision I will never regret. Fast forward to a few months down the road. 🛣 I am happier and healthier than I have ever been...I am still on my fitness journey and helping other people start theirs 💪🏻 Healthy and balanced living doesn't have to be hard or stressful! Did today go as I hoped?  Not exactly, BUT I finished my first half marathon post Colin ... which in my book is an AC (after Colin) PR 😊and something I can build on. There are always things you can/could have done differently ... but the bottom line is - I accomplished my main goal of finishing, so it’s a win in my book and I’m proud! I couldn’t have done this without the unconditional and never ending support from Mike, who understands that I need to run as much as I need air the breathe. I'm trying to get back in the groove of starting my days with a workout at least 3 times a week.  This morning was one of those mornings.  Gym at 6am.....and then unloading a literal ton of hay solo.  That is a large reason why I workout though - so that I can easily do the manual labor this lifestyle requires without injuring myself. Let's just say that I've got a good bit of reconditioning to do before this stuff gets "easy" again! 😓

Some days I jump out of bed when Brian leaves at 4:55am. Today? Ya, nope. Not even my #preworkout could save me. Thankfully, I only had a 25 minute workout  today. Thankful that this is NOW part of my daily routine, even on the days I don't want to (like today!). Thankful to have a group of women to motivate me on days like today when I need it most! I fail on the daily & need the motivation, accountability, & support JUST as much as you!

Mostly reminding me I'm not alone. You know you see pictures of other people's little cuties swaddled peacefully in their crib and you're like "omg mine will only sleep in the swing, what am I doing wrong?!" It's always nice to know I'm not alone!

Today was a great day. I got back on the field for the first time. I was slow, rusty, and tired but I accepted the new me and just smiled.

The bright side is I have so much room to improve and skills to aspire to!  The arrival of fall has always meant soccer season and I am still having withdrawals, but I will always make time. Soccer = ❤️

Starting my day with a workout wasn't always my thing. Back 15+ years ago, I was working two jobs. Then working full time and school full time. I didn't take care of myself the best that I could.

Life has transformed into something even crazier now. Working full time night shift delivering babies. Mama of three girls. Wifey to the best hubs (who can cook like a boss!!). And all of the other craziness life has to throw at us.

What I've learned over the last few years?? Self care isn't selfish! Life is busy, but I still need to take care of myself! I need to be happy and healthy to be the best me. Everything from how my days look, how I prioritize things, how I look, how I feel, and SO much more has transformed!

Breakfast of Moms... I mean Champions. Oatmeal with Banana, PB, and a dash of cinnamon. And lots and lots of coffee. The little guy is teething and he says "Mom what's sleep?" Haahahaha All you have to do is laugh it off and hope that the coffee and workout will give you a boost of energy.

Today was tough. I was not as prepared as I would have liked! But now I have my dumbbells (5's) if your wondering. My water bottle, which turns out we had no running water today so fail on drinking water. And three, my outfit picked out for the morning. And of course they need to be pink! This time a year ago, I had just found out I was FINALLY PREGNANT!! We had been trying for 16 months to have another baby and it just wasn't working. I didn't understand Gods plan, I was so frustrated, stressed and confused. In those 16 months, we unexpectedly sold our home on Facebook, Rylin turned 2 three days before we sold/closed on our home and we moved back in with my parents while we built our second home. Looking back on the madness, it's a no brainer as to why we couldn't conceive. In the process, I gained 10 lbs!!! I was miserable. 
So what does any of this have to do with the silly picture that I didn't want to post? Well, I've been trying to fit back into these shorts all summer long!!!! So today when I pulled them out of the drawer my first thought was there's no way these are going to fit, I am still not at the same weight I was when I was five months postpartum with Rylin. But my friends, I'm here to tell you that the scale can tell you lies! A number does not define us! We are more than that! One thing I get asked a lot about is my ab separation.  I shared much about healing my diastasi recti (ab separation) after the birth of our first daughter, Braelyn, but I haven't shared much about it with Alesha because I haven't had to do so much to heal myself this time because I took more precautions during pregnancy!

Sunday Sunrise workouts are my favorite! Everyone is asleep and it's insanely quiet outside on our normally busy street. As a sahm this is sometimes my only real (uninterrupted) "me time" so I enjoy it by improving myself and getting closer to my goals. ☀️🤘🏼

5 MONTHS POSTPARTUM 💁🏻👶🏼 Firstly, I can't believe our baby boy is 5 months old! 
Looking back to my one month photos it's crazy to see how much my body has changed. The baby house is vanishing! Never mind how exhausted I looked. 
It's been a long journey already and it's come with its ups and downs.

Some weeks I've managed to exercise three times a week and some just one then others none. I have to take each week as it comes. There's no point in me stressing about it. 
Nutrition wise I'm still not counting any calories or macros. I'm making good choices to have a balance of nutrients. Do I still have treats? Of course! I'm not restricting myself on anything. Some days I don't get time to eat! This mum business is hard work!! My body has had time to heal and I've reaped the benefits from not throwing myself in too deep. 
Pregnancy is a huge deal for the body never mind giving birth! 
For those out there who are on their own journey you can do it. Don't stress on the small things and just keep moving. Make good choices which in turn make you feel good.
