Five months postpartum. I still don't fit into my pre pregnancy jeans. My belly  looks three months pregnant. Breastfeeding doesn't make the "pounds fall". I have a ravenous appetite but no time to eat hot food. I've read all the "sleep training advice" on the internet but still let my baby sleep on the same bed as me. This means he kicks me to the edge and I sleep with my butt falling off the bed. Postpartum hair loss has hit me hard. I'm always tired. I constantly smell of milk and spit up. I've been sleep deprived for months now and had my first four hour stretch last night and it was blissful. While babies are amazing, being a primary caretaker for one is emotionally, mentally and physically draining. I have a hundred complaints right now but time is a bitch cause man, does she run fast. My plan for the next few months is to soak in all this spit up and baby cuddles while trying to maintain my sanity. I'd make a million different changes to my situation right now but my baby gives the best hugs and his laughter fills my heart and when he places his tiny palm on my cheek it's like he says I know I drive you crazy mama, but you're the best. No, you funny boy, you are always and forever the best.

My weight loss journey so far.. usually I don't post things like this but this.. because I use to be embarrassed and scared what people would think.. but I've worked hard to get here .. it was really hard to lose weight after I had my second son because of the birth control I had .. I would just put on and put on pounds .. So I had it removed and it took me a good two months to start seeing a difference.. the first and last pics are of what I've lost so far .. the middle pic on the left is how chubby I use too.. know it's not a lot but I feel a major difference ! #FivemonthsPostPartum

It's amazing what 9 hours of sleep and 30 minutes of exercise will do for you.

Okay im so nervous to post this! 
Here goes! After bubs the baby weight didnt magically fall off like everyone told me it would πŸ˜‚  This is 5 and a half weeks of training with @racheldillonwbffpro - and i do all my training at home! Eating so much healthy food but enjoying life along the way. Committment is everything though. Today I ran a ,almost consecutive, mile for the first time in a year and a half. Not kidding. It took me 13 and a half minutes to do it. I had to take a 30 second breather after each lap and I definitely did not want to finish it. As much as I hated it while doing it after I was done I was so glad I did. I want to get better at running again. So this is my start time and it's only going to get better from here.  Also, shout out to Zoe and saddie for running the whole time with me.

I had 5 beautiful and healthy children πŸ‘ΆπŸ» though and if that means I need to work a little harder later on, I would gladly do it all over again. But let's hope I'm done 🀣. Fun fact, my husband and I πŸ™‹πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ™‹πŸ» have had 5 children in the almost 7 years of being married πŸ’. After having my 3rd, I was extremely motivated and ended up losing about 40 pounds before getting pregnant 🀰🏻again. After having my 4th though, life got to me as well as #PostpartumDepression and then I got pregnant once more. Even at my lightest before my second pregnancy, I was so embarrassed by my stomach. I was doing ab workouts not realizing I had #diastasisrecti and was making it worse. So I had a toned body, but was still embarrassed and hated my stomach. I’ve come a long way. While I was pregnant I learned more about healing my ab separation. I learned that I needed to truly love my stomach and every part of my body. It’s not easy to do but it’s possible. Doing tummy safe workouts I truly believe I can tighten my skin and close the gap in my abs. .

This is a couple weeks postpartum ➑️ five months later. I’m the exact same weight, I believe nursing my son is having me hold on to fat stores. The hormone prolactin can cause some women to hold on to the extra weight to help with milk production. It feels discouraging sometimes holding on to all the extra weight.. The biggest thing that can either heal or worsen ab separation is posture. Poor posture while pregnant is one of the factors that causes the separation to worsen. When posture is corrected, your core will begin to strengthen and pressure will be taken off of your muscles. 
Good posture will also alleviate any back pain that is caused by diastasis recti.

Waiting waiting waiting. ⏱

My oldest is undergoing a neuropsych evaluation today. πŸ‘¦πŸΌ He’s a super healthy kid and likable and awesome. He also struggles with impulse control and motor developmental delays. We’ve never had any extensive testing done but recently decided that the more information we have, the better we can help him succeed.

So I wait here for a few hours while they do some testing and my heart is pulled in a billion directions and in true Christy-fashion I’m over-thinking and maybe overly-critical β€” ❀️ why did we wait so long to get him tested? ❀️he’s really healthy and just has some bizarre behaviors sometimes, does he really need to be tested like something is wrong? ❀️am I afraid of what they might find out?
❀️are they going to talk about medication and I’m going to need to make that kind of decision?
❀️what could I have done different so we didn’t end up here? ❀️is all of this completely out of my control and shouldn’t I just accept him as he is without needing to put a label on it?
❀️are we wasting the doctors time who should be more focused on kids with β€œreal” problems/illnesses
❀️am I under appreciating the seriousness of whatever Gavin has going on?
❀️and the biggest one β€” is he going to turn out okay?

I have to remind myself that THIS IS PARENTHOOD. It’s messy and you are critical and you never know if you are doing the right thing and you sit in a waiting room with a lump in your throat and tears in your eyes and you’re scared. And the GUILT. Ugh. It’s almost unbearable but also embarrassing because there are other people in this world dealing with life-altering, serious, diagnoses and I’m sitting here stressing over the fact that my child might have ADHD or be mildly autistic. Or maybe nothing at all. I don’t have any perfect full-circle observations except to say that if you are a parent, in a waiting room, facing some uncertainty and guilt and questions β€” my heart goes out to you. And even if your child isn’t facing anything too serious, the lump in your throat is no less justified and the tears in your eyes are still valid. Parenthood is tough some days for all of us. You got this, momma.
