Life is so fragile, and we often don't appreciate this. We often live as if we will live forever and are invincible, acting before we think things through and ending up with any number of injuries or deaths. How many people die every minute from careless driving or substance abuse? Living as if we are invincible can lead you to waste your life in an even bigger way. However, on the flipside there are those that are consciously aware of their mortality every second of the day, and whose fear paralyses them beyond manageability. While we need to be aware of our mortality and fragility, we need to not let it consume our every thought. There needs to be a middle way that allows us to move forward, but always with that part of our mind that acts and lives as if we don't know whether the next day will come. We can always hope it will, and make plans for tomorrow, but just make sure we don't do something we will regret and not be able to fix if we die tomorrow. Maybe our motto should be "Dont fix tomorrow what you can fix today". Fix your mistakes, don't leave them for tomorrow, and strive to be better every day and maintain a high standard in our lives and treatment of others.
