It's Marvel Monday! And kinkyj have to admit.. I'm really going off Spider-Man.. not the character.. just the current run! It's feeling a little stagnant, there are some highs but they're few and far between. But, I do have to admit this cover is Amazing!
I'm like 3 months late. Ehhh what the hell anyway Spider-Man: Homecoming Review:
🕷FINALLY we have a Spider-Man who is both an awkward geek AND a trash talking hero. Tom Holland is the best parts of Garfield and Maguire's Spidey combined into one.
🦅My favorite part of the film? VULTURE! Michael Keaton was fucking great and he beat the Marvel villain curse by a mile. What was great about him was that he was able to play creepy, menacing, and dangerous without having to even act like a villain, in another context he easily could have been the hero of the story. I honestly found it hard to root against him because he essentially did it for his family and that deserves both respect and the FILM MVP! 🏆
🕸The overall story was generally simple with a very neat plot twist. One thing I didn't like was Zendaya's inclusion in the film, she was absolutely useless and although its obvious that Marvel is planning to do big things with her, I can't help but be annoyed whenever she shows up and provides nothing to scenes. The movie is also very small-scale compared to most superhero films but it is an amazing homecoming for the Webslinger that will leave you excited for what comes next (Doc Ock please?).
👑 Overall for such a small-scale story, Spider-Man: Homecoming delivers in both the quality and enjoyment departments and aside from the very forced inclusion of Zendaya's character the film is almost near perfect. It is definitely a Top Tier 2️⃣ film and I highly recommend watching it.
