Estrogen is the key hormone which differentiates male and female characteristics. It is responsible for the development and regulation of female reproductive system and secondary sex characteristics. When there is excess estrogen (estrogen dominance) woman have trouble losing weight in their lower body. This is due to excess estrogen results in the increase in alpha-androgenic receptors in woman. The result of having more of these receptors is that the release of body fat where they are located is slowed down. Woman naturally have 9 times the alpha-androgen receptors compared to men. This makes it harder to lose body-fat. The reason you can’t lose weight is not only calories it is you hormones. Great ways to decrease estrogen levels is to consume more cruciferous plants and eat less estrogen stimulating/producing food such as GMO(corn and soy) and foods that have Growth hormone and pesticides. These foods can greatly impact your hormone balance resulting in unwanted fat.
