Our very first, tiny, imperfect, but oh so loved little ranunculus!!! This is just out of what we had already last spring, but just you wait, I'll be posting a picture of a fat salmon colored #italianranunculus bud here in a day or two!
Pallet and chicken wire: both incredibly versatile but extremely annoying to work with! Rain came so had to put this project on hold but at least I'm done with the chicken wire!! If all goes as planned, the reveal will be tomorrow 🤞
It's volunteer day this Saturday at our flower farm project, @detroit_abloom! Come anytime between 10am and 5pm to help us replenish beds with compost, weed, plant seedlings and help with overall garden clean-up. Detroit Abloom is on the 200 block of Manistique and Ashland. Kids of all ages welcome. See you there!
IT'S OFFICIAL, FOLKS!!
We are going to run our first flower route this week, and we are taking our online store for it's maiden voyage!! 😘😜 I'm sure we have much adjusting to do yet to make it run smoothly, but check it out and tell us how we can make it better! Those of you on our emailing list should have an email in your inbox about this new launch! Here's to the beginning of another great season!!!

Soil blocks are looking great this morning! Clockwise the top left we have Phlox 'Cherry Caramet', Mahogany Splendour Hibiscus, Rudbeckia 'Cappuccino' and Dusty Miller 'New Look'. All of these were sown 10 days ago. We put these styrofoam trays (our grocery store's meat department gave them to me) in black trays, put a dome on them and leave them on the heat mat under lights. Each tray fits 80 mini blocks perfectly. Soil blocking has been so amazing for us in starting lots of seeds indoors under lights. @baremtnfarm and @gardenersworkshopfarm have lots of great resources to use when you are just getting the hang of it. So exciting to see these little babies doing so well!
Looking back at our gardens in 2015 | We almost doubled in size by the end of 2016 and are expanding more this summer | To see the rest of our progress pictures head over to The Butternut Blog on our website!
