had a really good chat with a friend yesterday where I suggested he focus on himself for a bit and decided that if I was going to dish that out, I should be required to swallow the same pill. so I woke up and worked out. FINALLY.
not gonna lie - it was hard. I haven't really done much for the last month or two now and it's biting me in the 🍑. it's been harder than ever for me to pick back up, and I'm weirded out by that, because I've been doing this forever, and it should come naturally....right?? *buzzer* WRONG.
anyway - if you're like my friend, and you tend to focus on others knowing "oh, i'll be fine" - here's my message to you. plain and simple - YOU MATTER TOO!! don't forget to reflect on your needs and turn inwards every so often. it's easy to push your needs aside when you're busy. many times, we find ourselves overexerting or focusing so much of our precious energy on to do's or other people's needs or showing face or blah blahhhhh blah. it's fine - I do it too. just-- please-- check on yourself too. you're worth the effort 💖
I had a rough mental day today and decided that I would not go for a walk.
I decided I would have a mental health day and avoid everything.... However half way through the day I decided to start looking at it differently.
I decided that I would go out with my husband and get the shopping stuff sorted then I wanted to find a park that I remember from when I was a child that had a walking track so I knew it for later.
Well we found it and I decide we should walk it once so we know how long it is. Once I walked it once I decided to walk it again and again so did it 3 times.
Then came home and made dinner even though I was planning on buying dinner. So today I learned even if you feel SHIT get out there go for a walk and focus on what's important!
