Last night we bar hopped. It felt like a nostalgic thing to do just because it’s not an activity that fits into our lives anymore. I’ll admit, we had fun and are totally laughing at how much we’re hurting this morning 🤣
These goofs ended up in my bed! And woke me up at 6! Anyone else end up with extras every morning? 😉
Pro tip- forget to remove your makeup for easy morning selfie game. I can’t say what that’ll do to your complexion, though 🤷🏻♀️

Sundays always bring something, even if it’s just one more time to set our faces toward the Sun and take the plodding steps that over time might make you strong. Sometimes they bring pockets of light like a girl as she reads in the shadows or across from me over coffee with her face animated and alight and her heart spilling out so that I could see it. #daughters#sidebysidestories
Time to tart up your Sunday.
I love decorating tarts with fresh fruit and flowers - especially when I’ve got a glut leftover from a food shoot. 🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸These tarts are a sort of stupidly easy cheesecake hybrid - one with sweet shortcrust and one with a crushed ginger biscuit and melted butter base. Both filled with a mixture of mascarpone whipped with a good glug of single cream and honey and beaten until shiny and soft. The tropical sunshine one is swirled with lemon curd and burnt orange blooms (note: ranunculus, while GORGEOUS are totally inedible. Wrap the stems in cling before even thinking of letting them touch food) while the other has a little cherry juice and a coat of glossy Rainier cherries and deep purple violets.
A moment of thankfulness: ... setting the scene - the cold North wind and the horizontal Cornish drizzle are whistling around and washing the trees - both elements seemingly desperate to make haste their cold and their damp in here - but within we can look out and smile and be most grateful for our windows upon windows that thankfully keep it all out #whpwindows 🙏🏻 #dotpebblescreatureland
I love this image... Mostly because it's my little girl. But the sun And lens flare, the smile on her face, the movement, the unicorn on her shirt. It so perfectly shows how I wish everyone could be all the time. She is so joyful and truly enjoys life.
Tarting about of a Sunday.
This pretty sunshine thing is so simple it’s almost embarrassing - a crushed ginger biscuit and melted butter base topped with mascarpone whipped with honey and single cream and swirled with lemon curd. I’m always almost poisoning people with my decs - note to bakers, ranunculus, while beautiful, are NOT EDIBLE. Who knew the buttercup family were so poisonous? Apparently a sailor who once inhaled the fumes of the burning flowers suffered an epileptic fit and died. If you insist on using these flowers to dec cakes, wrap the stems in cling film before placing on cakes and don’t let anyone take a bite! Violets, nasturtiums and daisies are all totally safe ... albeit almost too pretty to eat 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
I took an art course back in college and the professor had us draw from a flipped image. It made your mind let go of normal perception and draw- simply be artistic and not controlling. If you try one thing today, make it this... turn your camera upside down and shoot. You'll likely end up with an image you would have never taken otherwise. Let go a little.
