It's National #PopcornDay !
DIY Microwave Popcorn:
Ingredients: popcorn kernels , olive oil or coconut oil or butter – preferably in a spray and seasoning
Directions: Put 1/3 cup kernels in a paper bag. Fold bag over 2 times to close. Microwave for 2 to 3:30 minutes – paying very close attention to when the kernels slow down popping and it takes 5 to 10 seconds between pops.
When it’s done spray the popped corn with olive oil and season with whatever you like. You can spray it with olive oil and then add the seasoning straight to the bag and shake it around to mix or put it in a bowl.
Seasoning ideas: Salt, Pepper, Everything But the Bagel Seasoning, Sugar, Cinnamon, Chile Powder, Tajin, Cocoa Powder, Parmesan Cheese…
Note: I had to do this a couple of times to figure out exactly how long to microwave it so that the popcorn with mostly popped but not burnt. I burnt a few batches and had a few where only half popped. Finally I found the sweet spot is about 3 minutes for 1/3 cup – I have a small, not fancy microwave.
Question: Do you prefer salty or sweet popcorn?
Pro tip: if you can't finish your pack of bacon before it goes bad...wait what?!? (I buy unprocessed bacon so it needs to be frozen three days after its opened.) Some of you will understand. Some of you won't. No judgement here!! But for those of you who don't treat packs of bacon as single servings, place your strips of bacon on a sheet tray and pop them into the freezer. Then once they're frozen, throw those frosty slices of heaven ibto a freezer back so you can pull out individual portions. (I cut mine in half so they fit in the pan better) #protip#foodhack#bacon#baconmakeseverythingbetter
#foodhack 😛 So here's a quick Flex Flavor food hack >

Things I’ve learnt about renovations. They will 100% take a lot longer than quoted, cost more than you think but 100% are worth it in the end. We haven’t reached the end yet but we’re so close! My favourite gadget of the kitchen is finally in after months of waiting - the instant boiling water tap! Not just for the work place #instantsatisfaction ☕️
Getting inspiration from this baked sweet potato 🍠with guacamole filling. It is absolutely delish 👌especially when seasoned with PICKLD Mint Seasoning. As simple as sprinkle and serve to get both flavour and nutrition boost to your veggie dishes!✨
🥕Curried Roasted Carrot Soup 🥕 🍲 🍲
My favorite soup hack is to R.O.A.S.T your veg before putting it into a puréed soup. Roasting allows the naturally occurring sugars to caramelize - trust me, you’ll never go back to your old ways. Topped with kefir or coconut milk to bring down the heat, this soup warmed me from the inside-out. 🥕
What’s your favorite food hack?
@garageproject • Silk Road Oumou, ginger and pineapple Pilsner. Tastes like grilled bbq pineapple, nice finish and leaves a bit of heat from the ginger but not too much that it overpowers your palette. Yum! 🍍🍺
What's with the green stuff you say?
Well, those right there are cubes of frozen pureed avocado.
Our avocado tree produced way more than expected back in November. After doing a little google research I was so happy to find out that avocados freeze well.
The second photo is the defrosted result.
After 2 months in the freezer.
Perfect texture and colour!
When avocados are on sale, armed with this hack, you can stock up like crazy and take them out of the freezer whenever you need. Anything from smoothies to guac!
Today Im pulling mine out to substitue bananas in a brownie recipe Im testing. All of my bananas have suddenly and "mysteriously" dissapeared...🤔👬🐒🐒
If you’re a fellow Chipotle lover like me you will know the effect it has on your bank account. I had a craving and decided to try to make my favorite order: the sofritas burrito bowl. OH. MY. GOSH. Tastes identical! The only thing missing from my bowl was guacamole because my avocados weren’t ripe enough. 😒 Wish you guys could smell how amazing it smells in my apartment 😍 Comment below if you want the recipe!
Day 11 of 21 - Social media detox
With the noise so many social media apps create, it can make it difficult to focus and can even negatively affect our mental health. How many times have you been with a friend that is scrolling through their newsfeed whilst you talk with them?
Or how about the times you find yourself mesmerised by everyone’s curated, perfect “lives” on social media, leaving you feeling awful about your own life?
Tomorrow’s challenge is to go an entire day without using any social media at all. Go to the park, take a moment to come up with new ideas, solve a problem you’ve had for a while.
Don’t photograph anything and be present in those easily missed, beautiful day-to-day moments. You will get more done and will likely feel better for it!
What about Huel HQ, you ask? Clearly, many Huelers contact us on social media for customer service needs and you won’t be ignored. However, if you read this and need any assistance, we will be readily available at email@example.com.
Let us know on Friday how you got along!
Utterly obsessed with chai tea lattes, but tired of knowing you consume 300+ calories every time you have a cup?
Try this super yummy alternative — for all the fun and yumminess in under 20 calories. (Say whattt???)
Boil yourself some water on the stove, microwave, or whatever you prefer. Next, put 1 tsp of stevia in a mug, and get your teabag ready. Warm up 1/2 cup of almond milk (I used original) in the microwave. Once the water is done boiling, add it in your cup to the half way mark, and then top the rest of the room off with your steamed almond milk.
Healthy AND delicious! Let’s kill those 2018 fitness and health goals!
Let me know what you think. 😊
- Gör isbitar i olika snygga former. - Variera juicesmak och färg för ytterligare effekt - Mini-isbitar av fryst juice är jättegott till exempelvis vaniljglass.

#knowyourfoodsubstitutes BAGEL ↔️ RICE CAKE in the best combo of all time 🤤 which is: one of these substitutes topped with light cream cheese & a hard-boiled egg! 😍 depending on my current physique goals, I’ll pick either a bagel or a rice cake in this combo to help me reach my goals! When & why I use each substitute 👇🏻
⬅️ BAGEL option: if I’m trying to bulk or maintain at higher calories as I have been for the past several months, I have a good amount calories and carbs to fill! Thus, I like to use higher-cal/carb & denser foods to reach my overall caloric (thus, physique) goals. And bagels are just one of my all-time favorites 😋
➡️ RICE CAKES option: if I’m trying to cut or maintain at lower calories (which I will be soon), I’m tryin’ to find lower calorie & typically lower carb options! I say lower carbs specifically, as carbs tend to be the most variable macro. Not saying carbs are bad, faaaar from it! Anyways, I can use rice cakes instead of a bagel to get the same effect for this snack, while saving 2/3 the carbs! Of course, a rice cake is not a bagel (duh) but it serves the same purpose as a bagel and still tastes dang good in this combo.
🤓MORAL OF THE STORY: small substitutes like this can really add up and help you reach your physique goals, whether bulking or cutting or whatever your current goals are! 💪🏻
*calories & macros are for items pictured: 👈🏻 1/2 @traderjoes sprouted wheat bagel, 1tbs light cream cheese, 1 egg & 👉🏻 1 plain @quaker rice cake, 1tbs light cream cheese, 1 egg
Taco Bell hack for skinny people: throw a little low/0 calorie cooking spray in a low-medium heat pan and fry up your burritos (or “tacos” as we call anything wrapped in a tortilla in my family) to invite some crisp to the party.
I also like to smash up a few tortilla chips to get some of the fun going inside too.
Especially helpful in preserving some crisp if you’re saving them to nuke later.
Check back later today for my easy af slow cooker salsa chicken recipe perfect for these. 👌 💪 🌯 🌶 😋
Is there anything more disappointing than spending ten minutes crafting the perfect taco, for it to fall apart the second you try and pick it up? Rather than trying to cram everything into your taco by hand, rest your taco shells in these trusty holders before constructing your Mexican masterpiece, and enjoy mess-free, stress-free dining. #mexican#taco#tacoholder#mexicanfood#kitchenhack#foodhack#market57#Westport#clifden
So this photo is tacos from last week but I'm using it for #TacoTuesday anyway because I forgot to mention last week that I discovered adding short haired pasta to your mince when you don't have enough and are to broke to buy more, helps to bulk it up and make it last longer :)
This is quite possibly my favorite and easiest food hack— cauliflower rice! Especially since Whole Foods sells it already riced, bagged, frozen and organic for less than the cost of a head of cauliflower. No brainer!
In less than 10 minutes it’s done by cooking it up with ghee or coconut milk with chopped onion, garlic and pepper. Sometimes I make it with coconut milk and yellow curry and it’s delish too! Options doth overflow.. Thank you @wholefoodspoplar for accommodating my lazy but hippie ways ❤️ Added bonus— cauliflower is jam packed with nutrition and binds and excretes excess estrogen (we have way too much thanks to chemicals, plastics and mysterious ingredients in beauty and body care products)! #farmacy
🌯🌮 #Chipotle#FoodHack 🌮🌯
What's better than 1 🌯? 2 🌯🌯!!! Did you know you can get more than double the amount of burrito for the same price?! Been doing this for years and wondering when the day comes that I walk in to see laminated messages with the words "extra charge" posted on the walls 😅.
Here's the trick:
🌯 Order a bowl! 🍲
🌯 Ask to mix 2 proteins 🍗🍖
🌯 Ask for both rice & beans (I prefer black)
🌯 Don't forget your veggies & corn!
🌯 "Little more please" goes a long way. 📏
🌯 Request for a side of tortillas. ( 3 taco sized or 2 burrito sized, never asked for more so let me know 😋) 🌮🌮🌮/🌯🌯
And that's a (few) WRAP(s) 🥁😏!!! _
Side note: Ancestral Histories has hugely affected some of my 💸 habits. Yes. I'm Ilocano. We are jokingly known to be " kuripot" aka stingy. But the way I see it: Get the most out your buck and spend the rest on higher quality parts of life. Other than that, 🍻 to saving extra burrito money & enjoy the extra gains. You're welcome!
🌶’s Cajun Pasta |
Hack: Add Bacon🥓 |
Although this dish isn’t an original from their 1975 menu, it’s been a hit since it’s addition. So much so, that it survived the latest revision which removed 40% of the previous Chili’s menu. |
This chili-powder infused Alfredo sauce has a classic delicious taste with a mildly spiced kick. Combine that with the smoky flavor of char-grilled chicken or shrimp and the fresh taste of diced tomato and green onion, and you’ve got Chili’s fan-voted “most popular” dish. Just don’t forget to add the Bacon next time! |

@duncansbrewing • pale ale at the new beer spot in Hataitai, Waitoa Social Club. Good little spot, they had some good beers on tap - will be nice once they start getting more of their own on the line up
I use rice cereal for everything when it comes to my baby! But the cost can definitely add up! I got this bag of rice from a food center and just never got around to making it for myself! Found out if you blend it you can make your very own rice cereal. Doing it at home gives you way more options!! You can use the idea with oats and other grains. I always add it to Carsyn’s food in order to give it a thicker texture and more vitamins!! Definitely give it a try!! Takes no time at all, literally less than 5 mins!
The sun shines bright today.
Enjoying in the kitchen by making this delicious and simple pasta recipe. Just some juicy shrimps along with mushrooms followed by a drizzle of lime makes life better.
Recipe up on blog. Link in bio.
Happy Monday! Start the week right with a delicious and nutritious smoothie. They might be a hassle, but you can double your amounts and it'll last you for at least another day in the fridge too.
This green lovely has:
Browning banana (great way to use these up)
1tsp Maca powder
1tsp Protein powder
1tsp Supergreen powder
Cold water to thin
Whizz it all up and away you go.
Apart from making sure you get some protein in there, you can play around with quantities to your taste. Don't worry about 'getting it right'. Perfect for tired parent brains!
