Classic Caffè Florian...this takes me back to my early days as a pastry chef working in the UK...that perfectly fanned apple tart! Crispy, crumbly pastry cases and creamy, thick custard propping up the paper thin slices of poached apples...sigh😍 The meditation in craftsmanship of the sweet course 😍 I can't wait to let my pastry chef heart out again when I return home.
Oh Florian..sigh...what blissful joy you bring me.😍 There is unending theatrical inspiration inside all this plushness. I had the Cioccolato Cassanova... thick hot chocolate topped with minted cream, served with a dipping biscuit. I also had the famous apple tart with custard and jam filling😋 I will be recreating these delights and sharing recipes and photos very soon.
Appropriate to start in France 🇫🇷 Le grand restaurant was one of the most amazing food experiences of my life! The night before we ate at a 3 star Michelin restaurant that was so overrated and I almost lost faith in the system. But Le grand totally made up for it ..This restaurant deserves all the amazing reviews that come it's way! He is so inventive, creative and the atmosphere is laid back and not intimidating while still delivering amazing food art!
