Today's Recipe- Dal Fry
Prep time- 45 minutes
2 cups toor dal
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
2 onions, finely chopped
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp ghee
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 tbsp garlic paste
2 bay leaves
2 cinnamon sticks
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Salt to taste
• In a cooker, boil the toor dal. After it’s boiled, keep it aside.
• In a vessel, mix oil and ghee. Put the vessel on flame. When the oil gets heated; add cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves. Also add ginger paste and garlic paste. • After that add onions and let them cook till they are very soft. Then add tomatoes. Once the tomato becomes pulpy, add the boiled dal.
• Stir well. Add salt, garam masala. Let the dal cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame. • Add green chillies. Cook for a minute. Add chopped coriander leaves and immediately switch off the gas.
• Yummy Dal fry is ready. Have it with leftover rice or jeera rice.
