Monday night dinnner: tostadas (I get mine from Whole Foods, they are baked instead of fried and SO delish!), chicken and zucchini cooked in @simplyorganicfoods mild taco sauce (also most definitely getting again, saved me time, made with quality ingredients and delicious), some extra spices for a 🌶 kick, and topped with cilantro and @siggisdairy plain whole milk yogurt. Growing up dinners consisted of a meat, a starch, and a canned vegetable. When I became a vegetarian, it was extremely hard for me to prepare meals. I ate a lot of pasta and cheese in the beginning, thinking this was how to create a meal. As I began to explore new foods, and learn how to cook, things became more clear to me. Now I think of vegetables as my meat, the heart of the meal, and I just marinate them or season them as one would a steak or chicken. It's just a matter of changing the way your mind thinks about food. I knew nothing about cooking when I became a vegetarian, and now I feel so excited to prepare a meal.

Autumn breakfast is: spiced whole wheat waffles with buttery sautéed pears and maple syrup. This is a variation of an existing recipe on my blog (link in profile). To make the waffles, simply add 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp allspice, 1/4 tsp ground ginger and a pinch of nutmeg to the dry ingredients in Step 2. 🍽Workshop announcement✨ In celebration of @mujiusa’s 10 year anniversary in the US, I’m partnering with them to host a free workshop at their new Williamsburg location this Saturday, October 28th, 2-3pm. My demo will include a walk through of a table setting ideal for Instagram. But mostly we’ll talk about food styling, prop selection, surfaces, a bit of social media but still leave time for a Q&A sesh. It’s my first workshop and I’m a little nervous, so please come join me and bring your questions (it’ll be much more fun to interact with you!) Current meal obsession: pad thai 💃🏻 Made this bad boy with stir-fried veggies in @chosenfoods sesame oil, tossed them with rice noodles and chickpeas, added on some toasted almonds, spicy peanut dressing & micro greens- so simple, SO good (aka my life motto 😎🙋🏻) takes twenty minutes & leaves me so satisfied- nothing better 💃🏻

It is a tentative to mix almost all the products of iberico pork (#jamon and #sobrassada ) over an extraordinary marinated egg yolk in sea water #yolkporn over a delicious #parmentier . I hate the rancid flavor of some #iberico hams. And much more if the fat comes in jelly texture and warmed... and the liquid yolk, and the intense flavor of #sobrassada ...
Eating sobrasada with Jamón for an spaniard is like mixing jelly beans with peanut butter over a toast ...disproportionate. Well, maybe I was not in the mood for this amount of fat. Or maybe the previous foie taco was sooooo subtle and crispy that I did not expect this kind of well plated sort of English breakfast 😅😅😅
