Today was chest and tri's for me and I finished off training my core. I thought it was pointless to train my "fabs" that's what I used to call "my abs" and I would argue with my trainer about it because I just didn't see it happening. WELL- I don't have abs but with a combination of my over all total body percentage fat loss my stomach is toned in a way I've never seen it (I train abs 3 times a week). No I'm not skinny- I've been skinny before there is a huge difference.

Heute ein weiteres DIY-Projekt und zwar selbstgemachtes Deo (bei dem Wetter unerlässlich 😆) Links seht ihr mein altes Deo, in dem Deoroller rechts mein selbstgemachtes. Ich habe es nach dem Rezept von @smarticular.netde gemacht. Es ist etwas fester, als gewohnt, lässt sich jedoch sehr gut anwenden und hat bisher ordnungsgemäß seinen Dienst getan 😀 Ungewohnt fand ich am Anfang den Duft des Teebaumöls, doch dieser verfliegt sehr schnell. .

I made it according to the recipe of #smarticular It's a little stronger than usual, but can be used very well and has done its duty so far. 😀 At first I found the scent of tea tree oil, but this one flies very quickly.

Heute möchte ich euch zwei DIY-Projekte vorstellen, die ich vor ein paar Tagen gemacht habe. Natürlich wurden sie auch schon fleißig getestet 😉 Es handelt sich ganz simpel und Geschirrspülpulver und Klarspüler. Beides habe ich nach einem Rezept von @smarticular.netde gemacht, welche in meinem kleinen schlauen Buch stehen. 😄 Die Rezepte findet ihr jedoch genauso auf der Homepage von #smarticular Für mich war wichtig, dass beides ökologisch, sprich ohne chemische Zusätze ist. Gerade beim Pulver war ich sehr skeptisch, doch was soll ich sagen - es steht meinen alten Taps in nichts nach und ich bin wirklich nicht zimperlich, wenn es um die Nutzung meines Geschirrspülers geht. Das Pulver bewahre ich in einer Metallbox auf, die ich extra für diese Zwecke vor einiger Zeit gekauft habe und für den Klarspüler benutze ich derzeit einfach eine alte Ketchup-Flasche 😀 .
Today I would like to introduce you two DIY projects, which I did a few days ago. Of course, they have already been tested. 😉 it's very simple dishwashing powder and rinse aid. I made both of them according to a recipe from smarticular. For me it was important, that both are ecological, I mean without chemical additives. I was very skeptical about the powder, but I was pleasantly surprised - the effect is like with my previous taps. The powder I keep in a metal box, which I bought just for this purposes some time ago and for the rinse aid I currently use simple an old ketchup bottle. 😀 .
@gerontologistloricampbell approached me in mid December with an awesome goal in mind, "I want to be in the best shape of my life for my birthday!" What a journey it has been! Over the last 6 months we have both pushed each other far beyond what we had ever envisioned and with a ton of hard work and dedication we reached our goal. My personal favorite part of this awesome transformation isn't the physique change from 18% to 10% or even less now, it isn't getting so so much better at deadlifts and squats, and it isn't helping you transition to a plant based diet, but my favorite part of this transformation is the huge smile of accomplishment. REAL TALK: Last week was a very crazy and busy week for me and even though I meal prepped, it wasn't an ideal solution for me during the week due to how much running around I did.
On Monday I woke up the most bloated I've been in awhile. I didn't feel good either. I busted my butt in the gym and by Tuesday morning I felt a lot better but still a bit bloated. It occurred to me that the reason my entire body was off was because I spent an entire week off my usual schedule -this includes food, gym time, sleep, drinking and stress. If you asked me last week if I would have thought this would happen my answer would have been no since my progress has been so consistent.
The truth is life can get in the way a lot. It's okay to get a bit off track but you have to get right back on it very soon-especially on a Whole Foods lifestyle because you're essentially going from one extreme to the next.
Fitness, health and of course Veganism is a lifestyle that requires balance, planning and full commitment. We all educate ourselves as to the pros and cons of where and how we invest our money, what car we buy, where we send our kids to school, or which brand of kitchen appliance we use, but for many of us the dietary choices which could prevent, treat, cure or cause cancer, heart disease, and diabetes are left to thoughtless impulse.
I won't tell you what to eat or what not to eat, but I beg you to take one movies worth of time out of your life to learn about the health, environmental, social, and economic implications of the food you're putting in your body. It may reward you with some extra years on your life, some extra inches off your waist, and some extra energy to get you through your days.
A plant based diet has led me to the best shape of my life, but more importantly it's led to lack of guilt in my relationship with food. Let that one sink in. I don't feel guilty indulging in tasty food once in a while (EDIT: I'm always eating tasty food, I meant to say decadent AF food) because I know I'm getting a ton of vitamins and minerals all the time, and I'm exercising regularly. I've never felt better (and that serotonin is REAL) but this is so much bigger than just "me" or anyone's individual health. This is about boycotting industries that are contributing to global warming and disease. This is about changing resource distribution and combating famine. Clean water for our future generations. The list goes on and on...
If this post makes you want to argue in favor of eating animals and drinking milk, then by all means you are welcome to state your argument, but I would ask that it be an informed one driven by health and concern for yourself and the planet, backed up by some science, and also maybe instead you should just watch the film first so we're all caught up. 😉
