The black trees
The tilting sphere
The humid bovine nostril
The sprawling chandelier
The thin lace trim
My damp unbrushed hair
All of them tangible and increscent coordinates in an immemorial routine of force and transmutation, of which the twilit taking of me was perhaps the final and most assuaging element. -Claire-Louise Benette, Pond
💜 Hello, my darlings! 💜
Last night, I devoured the rest of this book and I absolutely LOVED it! 😱
QUIET POWER is a motivational book designed to support introverted children and teens through the challenges of school. 🤓 It gives awesome advice from how to meet new people to surviving parties, from getting through public speaking to finding your passion and what really LIGHTS you up! ✨
I can't express enough how much I wish I had this book when I was in school. 💜
It's an easy 💜💜💜💜💜 out of 5 purple heart read and I highly recommend it to everyone but most especially parents! 🙌
An Elegy for Mathematics by Anne Valente
Literary Flash Fiction
A compilation of the smallest of moments and the fragility of our existence in dense, eloquent prose that brims with beauty. Flash fiction at its daring, intellectual finesse.
There’s no way for me to review such a short book spanning just 51 pages, so instead I’ll leave you with a few quotes from different stories to savour.
'If I had walked the moon, I’d have sown new roots. I’d have borne us all away, built a whole new earth upon the learned topography of lunar plains, the new language of other mountains. I’d have planted seeds not flags. I’d have let the crust tell me how to work through its rocks. I’d have curled you inside a crater, some snail shell of safety, instead of hurtling back to earth to accolades and exploration, where we’d burn every field and choke.’
- If I Had Walked the Moon
‘I am here: I. I am here and you are there. I am not interested in what lies between us. I am not interested in tin cans and twine. I am not interested in what tethers I have thrown across the continent to see if I can feel you still, a faint tug on the other side.’
- 10 Permutations on Desire
‘Imagine yourself as a cloud, unbounded. Imagine your weight as inconsequential as the element of air, that for once you hold no stones, that the bricks strapped to your back are a burden you never carried.
Imagine your life, the future - a stretching plain, still nebulous but bright, a place that holds no counting and repeating, no looming stratus you must kill by ritual.’
- How to Let Go
And there’s another author I wish I could write like. Her short story collection, By Light We Knew Our Names was one of my favourite reads last year and is not to be missed!
Who will you choose??? The Suit. The Rebel. The Jock.
"Good Morning Malibu, it’s another beautiful day on the west coast! I'm Noely Clark, your host: and I'm in the market for love…” When the publicity team of the new local restaurant, Going in Blind, began their search for a hot, local celebrity to promote the wildly popular eatery, they couldn’t have found a better person than me.
Open to finding love? Check.
I signed up immediately.
A hopeless romantic with an exceedingly demanding schedule, I've found it impossible to find the man of my dreams—so Going in Blind seems too good to be true! That’s until they start setting me up on dates—three very different, very attractive, very distinct blind dates—and only one thing is for certain . . .
I’m in big trouble.
Good Morning Malibu,
I'm Noely Clark, and I have a choice to make.
The question is who will I choose; the suit, the rebel, or the jock.
Confession time: I am a Great British Bake-Off ADDICT. My mom and I binge watched all of the seasons on Netflix within a week 🙈 Plus we rewatch the episodes every chance we can even if we already know the outcome! 🤷🏼♀️
When I saw this book, I had to get it immediately! It's not affiliated with the show, but the story itself sounds so cute. I think this is going to be a really light read and I'm so excited to read it!
What is your TV show guilty pleasure? 💕

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is getting some time to themselves ❤️ I read When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon this summer, and I would definitely recommend it! Plus, I needed a book with a bright and happy colour today 😊☀️ QOTD: What book has made you really happy lately and why? 📖
Until next time, lovelies 😘
FREE BOOK!! This book has been made into a film and is a great read for anyone looking for a quick and easy read. (Currently in my book shop for just £3.99)
The book is based on choosing kindness, so in the spirit, I would like to gift it forward. If you would like to read it next, I will get it dropped off (Deeping, Peterborough or Stamford), all I ask is once you have finished with it, you post it back on my page (with your name and date) so we can gift it on again.

“New Year’s afternoon aboard the Etruria began like a fairytale, which was the first indication a nightmare lurked on the horizon, waiting, as most villains do, for an opportunity to strike.”
I’m sure you’ve already seen the cover of Escaping from Houdini, but I couldn’t resist posting a photo. I am absolutely in love and I think it might be my favorite of the three. The cover reveal also had the first chapter, but I never read those because it’s such a tease. However, I’m loving that first line. Can it be September already? I need this in my hands.
I can’t tell you how many photos I took to try to get this shot because I can’t count that high. I’m still irritated that you can see my hand and part of Lila Bard.

Happy Sunday! Coffee with some sugar hearts to start my day?! Yes please!!! ☕️🖤☕️ tomorrow kicks off @booksparks #wrc2017 and I am so excited to participate! The first book up is Match Made in Manhattan, a #romcom reminiscent of Bridget Jones and The Bachelorette 🌹 serial monogamist Alison finds herself single and on Match.com and completely unprepared for the dating world. A cute story about dating in the modern age 👩🏼💻🌹👩🏼💻 This wasn’t quite a match with me, it had its moments and is very quirky, but I don’t think I related to Alison very much which made her decisions feel a bit shallow at times. Sadly, we weren’t a match. 💔 However, I do think anyone who has found themselves in the digital dating world will chuckle at the mismatches and odd dates Alison finds herself on! I’m sure this book is a perfect match for romcom lovers 🖤🌹🖤 My review will be up later today 👩🏼💻 Thank you @booksparks for sending me a copy and including me in the winter reading challenge!!! 📚 Since this book included online dating profiles, I started thinking about what characters dating profiles would look like 😂
Anakin Skywalker: widower, estranged father, seeks someone to destroy the rebellion with. Must not resist. Enjoys deep treks into space. ⚔️ Kaz Brekker: seeking ninja to run heists with and generally build an empire. Must be patient and willing to go slow. I don’t like to be touched. Enjoys long walks full of silence. 🖤
Sevro au Barca: young Gold seeks fellow deviant and possible psychopath to traipse through society and generally cause chaos. Must like to wear wolf pelts and hide in awkward, potentially disgusting places. Prefers tall women with weaponry. 🐺
Khaleesi: mother of dragons, breaker of chains, queen of the andals, first of her name, seeks man to conquer seven kingdoms with. Must like dragons. Must also bend the knee. 🐲
What character would you die to see an online dating profile for? What would it say??? Please let’s have some FUN with this!!!! 😂😂😂
So some how I ended up with 3 copies of The Cruel Prince, 2 signed ones at that! So thought I would hold a giveaway for one of the signed editions. .

Lazy Sundays are the best! If you’re having one, enjoy it, while I slave over my essay 🤣
Deep Blue Trouble by Steph Broadribb is anything but lazy, it’s an exciting adrenaline-fuelled crime thriller, featuring one bad-ass bounty-hunter, Lori Anderson, who will go to the ends of the earth and back for her family!
Deep Blue Trouble follows Deep Down Dead and you need to read these books in order as the plot is continuous. The action doesn’t let up for a minute and I loved both books, 5⭐️ loved! If you love a fierce female protagonist, your books laced with danger and non-stop action, you need to get on board with this series!
I’m so grateful to @orendabooks for sending me copies of both books and allowing me a lil Lori in my life, haha!
The polls are closed and the results are in!
