"A lot of times people ask me about whether I have a vision in mind before I start or if I go with the flow -
I’m not a very go with the flow person in terms of my design process. I tend to have a pretty strict process - gathering inspiration images, ideas for color, I make a general plan for how many designs I want to see in each grouping of materials, and then I’ll begin to sketch. I do loose pencil sketches for silhouette, trims, and proportions, and then I’ll work with a technical designer to bring those sketches into reality " - Creative Director, @amyvoloshin
It’s interesting how you can’t technically change an individual but you can help change a system. It’s so mind boggling how there are people who want to use rhetoric as if they still live in a time when by law it was okay to do certain heinous things. But yeah it’s definitely a question of power.
The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives light to the eyes of both.
You’re alive, but wake up and understand that race or status does not equate to wisdom. Roles can switch real quick.
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I started to look up and read the many amazing words from this great man’s mouth. This quote really spoke to me. This year my focus is to ask God how I can be His servant more each day and to do it.
Happy Friday, everyone! I don't know about you guys, but this has felt like such a long week. Looking forward to the three day weekend filled with mattress shopping, building a new mantel, and my hair & makeup trial for our upcoming wedding! But most importantly, relaxing and spending time with the people I love most. This cute little sign is from @michaelsstores 🌿 #makeitwithmichaels

Seeing my pictures from Korea reminds me of how if I had a job I probably wouldn't have been able to take 20 days off of work to spend time with my mom.
Since February of last year I couldn't get a job that was stable or full time. Reflecting now, it was also around the time my mom asked me if I wanted to go to Korea with her for my cousin's wedding that happened to be on my birthday. I told her I wanted to go no matter what. Little did I know "no matter what" meant having to try to figure out how to create income without being tied down to a job. That was my wonderful stroke of luck. I'm glad that things happened this way because I have so many precious memories on the first vacation I ever took with my mom alone and the first time I've spent so much time with her in years.
What story do you have for when you didn't get something you wanted but you got something better instead?
Books I'm Reading by the Dalai Lama: The Four Noble Truths
Fun Fact: My mom asked me during that trip who I would want to meet and I said the Dalai Lama. I realized that after I chose this quote.
