After a few days (and half a world) of distance, I'm still astounded at the levels of vulnerability, joy and encouragement that punctuated each day at @melbfringe. From writing (and re-writing) new material with my power pussy posse @fringewivesclub, to performing with so many of my favourite people at the Fringe Club, even hosting for 500-strong crowds (for the first time), to the utter fear & elation of unleashing a solo show, in its most infant of stages, and feeling the comfort of a warm & creative community shielding its fledgling flaws and guiding me with gentle wisdom. I'm speechless in my gratefulness (although my fingers are still pretty verbose, haha), but I want to publicly thank everyone who gave their time to see the shows, who offer feedback & inspiration, those who drink with me, dance with me & otherwise support me in immeasurable ways. There's too many to tag but this is a start. I'm damn lucky to have you. 💘
Seems appropriate that I returned home to London to see the final proof of my first ever naked photoshoot for the @cabaretvscancer charity calendar for 2018 - a feast of cabaret performers, captured fabulously nude by @sinbozkurtphoto. This pic is just a teaser, you have to buy the calendar to see the full shebang, and now that I've seen everyone else's shots I promise you it is more than worth it! 💘💪💥 .
Another festival done and dusted with two of the goddamn best. Years of friendship and dedicated Wifely support in, and I am still so honoured to ride into battle with these badass heroes. What a pair of epic, power legends. I am a (very, very) tired and incredibly happy kid. x
And huuuuge Thank you to @melbfringe for being the art home of my heart. I goddamn love you. x
Pretty much my most favourite pre-show ritual ever (as in that I've ever had for ANY show) - napping in/with Laguna the Vulva is the BEST. In Adelaide when I'd only just finished sewing her (yes I made her) and we were still writing and trialling the very, very first version of Glittery Clittery, Laguna and I napped under a giant Moreton Bay fig in the late afternoons, and I would wake up to the gentle sound of snacking as the local flock of ducks came past for an afternoon snack and surrounded Laguna and I under the tree! It was amazing and peaceful and quiet - and Laguna was and still is the ultimate nap buddy (don't tell Zorro!). Laguna and I and the @fringewivesclub have only three shows left at the marvellous @melbfringe - come along and play - you might even get a consensual hug from the big softie herself! x
Why see one show when you three?! If you book to see Dirty Words (8pm), Fringe Wives Club (9:15pm) and Can't Face (10:30pm) all in one night (today or tomorrow) and use the code 'Smut' you will only pay $17 per ticket! They're all in the Lithuanian Club Ballroom so you can just sit back and enjoy the ride! Book now on the Fringe Website! #everythingisart#melbfringe#dirtywords#fringewivesclub#cantface
My gorgeous, smart, funny #cousin @zofia_wb #melbournefringefestival#fringewivesclub#glitteryclittery Great show, strongly recommend it. Before the show we went to Agraba Lebanese restaurant for a bite to eat. Thanks Teresa and Zofia for a lovely night out.. a small break in the storm that is final assignments and exams. Back to work.. 😑
When you open your @melbfringe show and everyone is super happy post show except for the terrifying Ring child in the background... 😳😍 Ps. It is totally @shesaws and she SMASHED her first ever Melb Fringe show AND club night so really this is just a photo of me and @tessawaterscomedy being super proud stage Wives in amazing @ms_edgeley tshirts... - R x

Just another casual throwback to the madness and glory of the @melbfringe photoshoot where I channelled Cruella De Ville on acid in the name of Everything is Art (for 2.5 weeks). Possibly the most terrifying photo of my eyeballs ever taken - but at least it's art, eh?
But on that topic - the Melbourne Fringe Festival opens on Thursday and I am just ridiculously excited! @fringewivesclub opens Friday night with a Glittery Clittery reboot (new songs! New bits! Same mega action babes!), we do a one-off Kids Show in a week and a half (Bring your kids to be brainwashed into being feminists!) and @tessawaterscomedy and @shesaws open their brand spanking new solo shows next week too!
PLUS there's so many icredible shows happening with the most marvellous female and femme ID-ing artists! See @bettygrumble or @the_clams or @discordiants or a HEAP of other incredible artists! I'll pop up more recommendations as the fest goes on!
But if you're in Melbourne - please get out there and see some shows. Take a chance on someone you've never heard of, go to see your favourite acts trial new and amazing work and come and rock out at the Club every night because NO ONE does curated, exquisite club nights like Melbourne Fringe.
See you round the traps. - R x
Ps. Good luck sleeping after seeing this terrifying photo that looks like I am simultaneously a horror four eyes and bleeding out of my eyeballs... aaaaah the glamour.
