When we were on a 1 week juice fast, we went through about 4lbs of fruits and veggies a day. Rather than throw the scraps out, we decided to create a compost bin for our garden in order to feed our soil extra nutrients. Composting is something we in North America need to get a grip on, and fast!
When I lived in Bali, I lived with a wonderful woman who composted and recycled EVERYTHING. Instead of a trash bin, she had a plastic bin, a paper bin, a metals bin, a glass bin and a compost area for all food waste.
The day I took out my twist extensions, I was hesitant where to throw out the weave😂 She said everything is recyclable - put it in the plastic bin. Like- what a common sense concept- and yet, my mind was still blown!
A lil while ago we posted about our transition into a plant based diet. It has been a YUMMY journey thus far. With planning and resources its possible to eat plant based on a daily basis. That being said, there are countless communities of color not afforded access to organic, fresh and affordable produce. We applaud our friends @urbancreators for their grassroots approach to community gardening.
Cheers to simple adjustments that help our Earth. Cheers to undoing ordinary to make space for health.
Do you compost? If so how?
My daily nutrition in a capsule! You may think that because you eat fruit n veggies you are getting your daiky intake. Think again! Studies show eating the rainbow in one day to get what our body actually needs is next to impossible these days. We are buying alot of pre-picked foods left with very little nutritional value these days and THAT my friends is a fact. Looking to get your body fueled properly and feeling better in life?
Sooo I bought 🍋 lemonade SPECIFICALLY for my 🍇🌱 berry greens. I got it Saturday morning and it's gone now! Between my greens and the boys this poor 🍋lemonade didn't stand a chance!
That mid-afternoon slump. 😫 You all know what I’m talking about. When you look at the clock and it just seems to be moving at the pace of a 🐌 and you would rather be sleeping. 😴

As some of you know from Facebook, I struggle with an unknown medical condition. The Dr. suspects autoimmune, but we won't know until tests are done again which I have to wait to get insurance. I'm trying to pack as much raw nutrition into myself today, yesterday was bad, and I want to give my body massive healing nutrition.
Breakfast is : 1 banana, 2 cups mixed berries, 3 clementines, ginger, tumeric, half bag of frozen peppers, 1/2 bag spinach, handful of broccoli sprouts, 4 stalks of celery, 5 mini cucumbers, 1 Zuchinni, 1 beet and 16oz water to blend.🤗 I'd usually have some chia in here but I think I'll have chia pudding later😍
On the move from skinny-fat to fit takes work, committment, daily decisions and great food.
And, it's great when all healthy eating plans and lifestyles encourage you to eat more fruits and veggies. But what do you do if those same foods can cause you severe pain and result in a hospital stay? ( @lifetimepatient I understand your challenges.) Do what I did! Turn to the best meal replacement protein and create new, tasty, nourishing smoothies and soups! 🥑
Produce, produce, read all about
it! Buying produce that is in season ensures that it is fresher and cheaper compared to other times of the year. It also helps with environmental sustainability because local produce supports the local farmers and it reduces the demand for out-of-season produce
to be shipped into the country.
