So I've been hanging on to this post for a while because I've seen scared I'll get it wrong, I think it's too important not to say anymore. Diversity makes us beautiful. This photo is MAJESTIC. The fact that no body looks the same is fucking incredible #mothernatureboom !
Take a moment and see what accounts you follow. Why not seek out a few new ones to switch up your feed and reflect a more diverse mix?
Thin privilege is very real in the body positivity space and if you're not ok with accepting and shouting that out then I invite you to ask why you feel so uncomfortable about that? Yes everyone deserves to love their body and yes, your journey to self love is valid and true. I never had anyone telling me I could love my body growing up so I'm not saying all voices aren't important to create true change in the global dialogue of body acceptance. But we all need to have a little more awareness that some face a much harder journey because of discrimination in society. And personally, I'm sick of health and beauty only being reflected as a certain type of image.
The latest Dove campaign in the UK just shows how much ignorance there is in the 'beauty industry' and the tweets on the back of national obesity day (wtaf kinda day anyway) was evidence that fat phobia is out of control. I hold my hands up to my own privledge but I don't want any follower of mine to not feel welcome on my page.
The world of social media can be beautiful...but scratch the surface and I've read diagusting things said about others based on nothing but ignorance.
We live in a world where there appears so much freedom to spout hate that we cannot stay silent. I cannot stay silent. We must redouble our efforts to speak out against discrimination of all kinds.
I want to HEAR from others and LEARN from others. Let's honour and share each others stories. I want to reflect a more diverse dialogue.
cause honestly, isn't it boring to only hear a dialogue of thin cisgendered able-bodied white women talking about 'wellness' and photographing yet another avocado breakfast.

As a kid I always had the choice to be friends with who I wanted. Growing up in a diverse place has taught me many valuable things about people that carry well with me into my adult years. We're all a helluva lot more alike than different. Many if not all of us want to live our lives in peace, want and like nice things, and to simply not be fucked with. #fuckracism#unitedwestand#dividedwefail#icouldgoonfordays

So im in the south and some racist shit just happened. I saw someone with a "Black Lives Matter" shirt on. And i said thats whats up. Than here go some white guys telling me to get the f out their country. I automatically said you go back to yours. I was ready for whatever was about to happen next. But i would like to thank David for stepping up and holding me down. David is a white guy who was so pissed off with those guys he wanted to fight... We need more non racist white ppl to stand up with us..... Im mad i didnt get a pic with David bc of what was going on. But David you are the real MVP... 💯💯💯 #FuckRacism#BlackLivesMatter#WeAllMatter#StandUp
They used to tell me that they would dress like KKK to scare me. They used to tell me that it was disgusting that my parents mixed races. They used to tell me that my future was gonna be cleaning their toilets like the slave I was born to be.
I've forgotten most of what they said but these things I still remember like yesterday. I was told all these things in 5th and 6th grade in a school where the teachers heard everything but didn't do a damn shit. #FuckRacism
