BULKY vs. FUNCTIONAL AF || So I have a little problem with the word bulky when it's used in a derogatory manner. Not only because it's shaming a certain body-type (which is not ok) but also because a 'bulky' body is in most cases a STRONG BODY and I don't understand why that is a bad thing. It's that strength that makes us more functional as human beings. Personally I LOVE to be strong. I love that I can lift my heavy luggage up the stairs at the tube station or move and lift my furniture at will or win at an arm wrestle with a descendant of Genghis Khan while on a Mongolian mountain trek and if that makes me a little more bulky than the beauty standards society has set for me, then I am 100% OK with that - in fact I prefer it. The way you look is always your prerogative - BUT I ask you to question why you want to look a certain way (or not look a certain way). I love all bodies but personally I will always strive and work towards maintaining an athletic body because of what it represents. LADIES and GIRLS - provided it's healthy, I will always support the body you choose to develop - but make sure it comes from a place of self-empowerment, rather than self-loathing. Slow progress is still progress. Sure I could be a lot further a head than I am but I haven't spent a lot of time working on it. Therefore I can't complain or not be happy with progress. Costumo ficar nervosa com sessões de fotos (principalmente fotos na rua). Ser objeto do olhar do outro nesse contexto me permite poucos momentos de naturalidade e me fica a cobrança "acho que essa perna não está subindo o suficiente pra essa foto valer a pena", "não sei fazer uma cara que faça sentido pra essa foto", etc.
Mas tenho percebido cada vez mais que, quanto mais faz sentido pra mim ser objeto do olhar de quem está por trás da câmera, mais consigo gostar de ser fotografada e mais eu gosto do resultado das fotos. .

I tend to be nervous with photo sessions (even more if it's photos on the street). Being the object of looking of the other (at this context) allows me a few moments of being spontaneous and I get really pick with myself "I think that this leg is not rising enough for this photo is worth", "I do not know how to make a face that make sense for this photo ", etc.
But I have been realizing that, the more it makes sense to me being the object of the looking of who is behind the camera, the more I like being photographed and the more I like the results of the photos.

Toe control of a 8 yr old, impressive! As we age and spend a life time in shoes we tend to lose this ability. Start walking around bare foot again, regaining movement and control you once had. Pick objects up, pretend to play a piano, walk on sand, concrete, rocks etc fantastic proprioceptive work, then do it with your eyes closed to enhance the experience.

Many of us disregard or don't value how important and amazing our bodies are designed to function. Start honoring your body,love and take care of it. If you don't currently don't love your body because of the way it looks, mostly likely it's because you have been mistreating it by feeding it junk. Give your body a chance to prove itself, feed it good and healthy nutritious foods. Your body will amaze you.
