Sunset yoga 🧘‍♀️ during my travels I have been completely out of routine and at times this has completely thrown me. Always find that ok holiday don’t you?! I also feel like that coming up to Christmas - certain disciplines just fly out the window!! 😂🙈

I’m really focusing on celebrating the little things and having some compassion for myself - basically having a cocktail and ice cream one day and then maybe balancing it with a quinoa salad the next 🥗 .
My meditations have mainly been 3 minutes every now and then when the opportunity arises with the odd longer practice thrown in. Each time I do take the time for yoga or meditation it really brings me back HOME 💜

Insomnia and poor sleep are prevalent among the population now. Research has shown that a reduced amount of sleep (as well as excessive sleep) is correlated with an increased risk of ALL-CAUSE mortality ❗️

Prioritise your sleep and follow good sleep hygiene:

🔸Avoid blue light - no electronics at least an hour before bed
🔸Avoid caffeine in the afternoon
🔸Keep your room cool and dark
🔸Get sun exposure during the day
🔸Regular movement and exercise
🔸Manage stress and inflammation
🔸Balance your blood glucose

Alllll topped with @eatdrinkpaleo stir fry sauce! Sooo good and hit the spot for the salmon cakes I’ve been craving for weeks now 😂

LIGHTBULB MOMENT 💡 it was like something clicked in my head about a week ago.

For several years now I’ve been self diagnosing my stomach issues, putting it off as a gluten intolerance or dairy intolerance.

Never once did I think my belly problems had to do with any of the so called healthy foods I was eating.

After reading up on lectins in foods, come to realize it’s more than the gluten, it’s also how my body reacts to some veggies and beans.

The last week has been eye opening. I haven’t had any stomach issues or bloating . I am feeling full after meals and not snacking as much in between. Choosing veggies that are compatible with my body has made me feel comfortable after eating and I can’t remember the last time I could say that. 
Now that I know what my body can tolerate, it was easy to whip up this quick meal after getting home from kids activities super late.

We were all cranky, hungry and tired. The last thing I wanted to do was prepare a meal but I’m so glad I did!

After reading up on lectins in foods, come to realize it’s more than the gluten, it’s also how my body reacts to some veggies and beans. The last week has been eye opening. I haven’t had any stomach issues or bloating . I am feeling full after meals and not snacking as much in between. Choosing veggies that are compatible with my body has made me feel comfortable after eating and I can’t remember the last time I could say that. Now that I know what my body can tolerate, it was easy to whip up this quick meal after getting home from kids activities super late. We were all cranky, hungry and tired. Keeping your body at a healthy pH level may help prevent unhealthy microbes and organisms from flourishing, tissues and organs from becoming damaged, minerals from being depleted, and your immune system from being compromised. This, in my opinion, is automatically solved if you cut out refined and processed food and eat whole, natural food. I personally spend almost no time thinking about PH because the body is extremely intelligent when it comes to maintaining homeostasis, even when you abuse it. Over the long term though, your behaviors and environment will all add up and your health or lack of it will be the end result.

Childhood allergies, adenoid and tonsil swelling impede the airway. Dr. Evans consulted with an ENT surgeon to remove adenoids and tonsils.

This airway based approach is the future of dental healthcare. But what we need to realize is that allergies occur due to an immune system in distress.

If we correct this child’s eating habits, and breathing habits, before their allergies encroach their airways, their gut and response to the environment isn’t an allergic one. Nutrition, with nasal breathing and expansive orthodontics is crucial to get childhood dental development on track.

The real reality is that if we can correct these processes in a child, we can prevent orthodontic braces.

This past week at Date with Destiny (Tony Robbins) was indescribable. 10am-2am days filled with a lot of dancing, learning and soul shifting breakthroughs.

Unfortunately, combined with two red eye flights, my immune system decided to give me a mandatory rest and recover period! The past three days were my first “sick days” in four years.

Today, really grateful for snuggly pajamas, sweet cuddles from my little guy, the ability to take time off without asking for permission and glass after glass of electrolytes to get me back in track to feeling good.

Every evening I make it a point to stay deeply hydrated. I feel I sleep much deeper when I do. If you think about how long one sleeps, (hopefully 7/8 hours) that’s a long time to go with out drinking fluids. Stay hydrated during the day and set yourself up for a good nights sleep also! Have you roasted any chickpeas lately? This is one I highly recommend. Simple, easy, and you can make them to suit your tastes. Here’s what I used in this batch.... “Cheesy” Chickpeas
Ingredients:
2 cans chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 cup nutritional yeast

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Dry rinsed and drained chickpeas and remove any loose pieces. Mix spices and nutritional yeast, then toss chickpeas in the mixture, making sure to coat well. Place on a baking sheet and bake 45 minutes, tossing every 15 minutes. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes and enjoy!

Serves 3-4
