Omg - you need to try this! OK, admittedly I didn't take the most appetising photo of my berry collagen latte this morning, but I assure you this drink is delicious. If you've seen my instastory this morning, you'll know that I woke up feeling experimental and wanted to try something new. I made this lovely hot drink using @planetpaleo's Primal Goddess collagen powder. There are so many benefits to eating more collagen. It can help heal the gut, strengthen bones, keep our skin tight and plump, to name a few. But let's face it, we don't all want to be drinking bone broth first thing in the morning everyday (although it's something I do recommend if you can). This drink is the perfect alternative! What's more is it's got raw cacao, which is naturally caffeinated making this the perfect wake up drink (it's also loaded with magnesium which might help to keep us zen 😌👌). As it was my first time making it, I would make a few revisions to the recipe I shared on my story. Use 250ml nut milk (unsweetened, the collagen powder is sweet enough. I found the Rude Health almond milk a bit too sweet for this). Add 1 tsp raw cacao powder, pinch of Himalayan salt, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla (optional) and 1 scoop of Primal Goddess. Heat up in a saucepan and whizz. Do they really work??? A couple of you have asked me what my opinion is on this new craze... do they work or is it just another ‘fad’...

So I put my medical hat on did some research.... collagen is a protein found in ligaments and tendons but also is abundant in the skin to give it that firm but flexible plumpy consistency. As we age, we lose collagen and develop wrinkles and skin begins to sag with gravity😫

So you can inject it back into your skin with dermal fillers OR, for the more squeamish amongst you, you can drink it 👅
. 
Despite a lot of speculation, a new study (a legitimate randomised placebo-controlled clinical trial by the ‘Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology’) has concluded that significant improvement was made using oral collagen intake - ‘significantly increased skin hydration’, ‘significantly increased collagen density in the dermis’ and ‘fragmentation if the dermal collagen network significantly decreased after 4 weeks of supplementation’ 💜💜💜
.
This is only one study but the results were undeniably positive. I’ve just started using one I found from @rejuvenateduk which is Açai berry flavour and PINK 💕which makes me happy in itself 😂

How you can achieve yummy, savoury, flavourful meals-

Tepung beras yg dijual di pasaran mayioritas berasal dari padi konvensional (ditanam dg pestisida) & ditambah pemutih  dlm proses pengolahan. That definetly hurts our gut.

Saya mengganti tepung beras dg tepung ubi ungu organik dari produsen lokal, jauh lebih sehat. Namun ingat, tepung (apapun jenisnya) termasuk processed foods which definetly send our insulin level to the roof! Terlebih ditambah siraman 'juruh' ya.. So be wise with your (even) healthy flour consumption.

Glad I did the research, started the healing process, did not give up and stayed the course! Ketosis and eating Whole Foods have healed my brain, gut, and hormones. As a result, the weight is coming off by itself...by diet only. Very little exercise on purpose. Allowing the extra energy to heal and repair. I add some full body heavy weights a few times a week for now. 
Best feeling ever is mental clarity, balanced mood, great sleep, and no cravings or pesky hunger. 25 pounds or 2 dress sizes to drop to my norm. So thankful for this way of eating, living, and being.  Also grateful for my wellness and wholeness seeking family. 💙

Me looking at my computer screen realizing that nope.... one of my practitioners is definitely still NOT able to access my EMR. I mean it's only been 6 WEEKS since I've been going back and forth with tech support to get her loaded up. I've followed every video, every email, all the written instructions and so has she. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced.  I tried to support local, I really tried. Then to have my Practitioner finally get some help only to be told I must be doing something wrong... umm you walked me throughout on the phone step by step! So if it's wrong brah you done messed up.

Ingredients:
1 cup of lentils
1 cup of split green peas 
3 carrots sliced 
2 red potatoes cubes 
1/2 medium onion chopped 
3 cloves garlic minced 
1 small chunk of fresh ginger crushed 
1 28 ounce can of crushed tomatoes
4 cups kale
2 tsp of cayenne 
1 tbsp of curry
Salt and pepper to taste
64 ounces of vegetable broth

Directions:
Heat some coconut oil on medium heat and sautée onions, garlic, ginger, and carrots for 3-4 minutes, add spices and sautée for another minute. Add in broth and veggies, bring to a boil and then lower to a simmer and cook for about an hour.

I added some lime and cilantro at the end for some additional flavor.

Baked Chicken and Veggies:

1️⃣Drizzle olive oil, and place sweet potatoes 🥔 and green beans (season with salt/pepper) on sheet pan in oven @ 400 for 12 min.

2️⃣Place carrots 🥕, olive oil, and raw chicken 🐔on a pan (also season with salt/pepper) and cook for 12.
.
3️⃣After the 12 minutes ⏲, add garlic and green onions over both pans and flip the chicken.
.
4️⃣Add basil 🍃over chicken, add cinnamon over potatoes.
.
5️⃣Cook about 15 more minutes ⏱or until chicken is cooked.

6️⃣Serve with raw spinach 🌿- delicious!

Threw together stuffed peppers tonight on a whim (because I hate following recipes!) I added browned grass fed ground beef, sautéed spinach, tomato, red and green pepper, garlic and oregano (and a dash of parm) to a hollowed out pepper and baked at 350* for 25 minutes!

Crispy Potato Tacos made their debut tonight for Taco Tuesday and they did not disappoint one bit. 🌮 I love adding a ton of fresh toppings like tomato, lettuce, scallions, cilantro, lime and avocado on top to add some life to the dish. So here is a twist on the traditional taco all you Taco Tuesday fanatics. Eat up and enjoy! 😋

INGREDIENTS -->
- 2 large russet potatoes, cut into small pieces
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Gluten free tortillas
- Any toppings your little heart desires

Add chopped potatoes to a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring potatoes to a boil and cook until fork tender, 15-20 minutes. When done, drain potatoes well.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil, potatoes and all the spices. Stir until all the spices are evenly incorporated and then arrange in a single layer. Let potatoes cook for 3-5 minutes, until crispy, and then flip and repeat.
Fill tortillas with desired amount of potatoes and top with favorite toppings. #tacotuesday #plantbased #eatplants
