Today I am feeling incredibly grateful for our little family and the path we are on. Can’t believe it was only a year ago that I was struggling so hard with the challenges of being a working (& nursing) Mom in corporate America. Constantly battling the needs of our family vs. what was right vs. what leadership was implementing that day. My job had evolved from something I took pride in to a role that I barely recognized. Over the course of a year my (formerly awesome) team underwent 4 separate layoffs & realignments, slimming from a local group of 56 to 12. I was honestly relieved when they finally eliminated the entire position. Looking back I am thankful that they gave me the push we needed to follow our dreams. We now work harder than ever to build our business but are also more fulfilled than I could have imagined. We wake up eager to start the day and implement the ideas we dreamt overnight. But best of all, I am thankful to be following my passion with the people I love most ❤️
The lines on this handsome chest caught our eye immediately, then we refreshed with it a gorgeous new paint job. The result is one of our all time favorite pieces. To complete this project we used layers of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Maison Blanche Wax and Rustoluem spray paint for the handles

What did you have to overcome to launch? |
Where do I start? Life is crazy and throws all sorts of challenges our way. If had to choose one... I overcame myself. I was my biggest obstacle. Fear and self doubt told me that a person could not make a living doing what I loved to do. I got out of my own way and started figuring out how I could make it happen. I examined myself to find out what my highest value was within my profession and what I wanted my influence in that marketplace to be, not what others thought it should be or what everyone else was doing. I set goals in accordance with those things and throw all of my energy at them. When I started doing this my business boomed because my happiness and love resonated in quality workmanship and customer service. |
What advice do you have for other women who want to start their own business?
Figure out what you love to do, find a way for it to help you prosper, set some goals in accordance with those things and then take action. When you do what you love you won’t be able to fail because you’ll always be inspired to do it better than you did yesterday.
