STICK TO YOUR OWN LANE
Yes! Stick to your own lane. This is my story.
While I was in campus not long ago, the coolest thing according to my opinion that is, was to have a side hustle, if you have been through the system you know how being broke was a norm except for the guys whose parents/guardians had secured the bag a long time ago.
I started a side hustle. I was a Graphic designer! So I charged students and clubs who wanted their posters, certificates, banners and t-shirts designed during the student election period. I could make a killing.
My side hustle started starving and I thought of other ideas to make money! I know money is a taboo topic in our society that’s why not so many people talk about it. MONEY is IMPORTANT!!. The person who said money won’t make you happy must have been very depressed because even when I find a coin in my trousers while am washing, I always smile and thank God it was there.
There was this student who was also in the side hustle, he lived close to my house, we had rented outside the school and renting outside the school was another cool thing!! He was doing good according to my opinion, so I asked a close friend of his what business he was doing. The friend never hesitated and said, he is in the polythene bag business (Juala Business). That sounded not cool to me but I really needed MONEY. So I asked the details about the business like his target clients, revenue profits and such. To my dismay, the Cat was reaping gold in the polythene bag business. His clients were mama mboga, the milk guys, chips cafes, shops and anybody that uses the polythene bags both the transparent ones and the black ones.
So here I was, I went to the wholesale shop, bought a bale of each bags ready to bring in competition to the guy, I listed all the business premises that I was going to sell to, from my mama mboga to the butcher and I had a pretty good list. My projected profit a month was going to be 44,320! the best word for that is DAMN!!. That’s good money considering I didn’t have much bills then. I knew I was already in heaven.
Day one of the business brought me back to earth. I only supplied 4 out of the 70 customers I had on paper, from there
