Still riding on that Houston high today! I hit the gym this morning because snowmageddon 2018 was a no show in North Texas, but it was a nice 16 degrees outside. I worked upper body today and threw in some glutes and abs. I need to get those glutes to fire! I’m taking a couple of days off from running then keeping it easy the rest of this week. Next week things will kick up a notch! My whole body is still a little sore from Houston so @rollrecovery has been my best friend! This thing is one of the best purchases I’ve made! Next up on the books is the @hotchocolate15k in Dallas! The price is increasing next week so if you locals haven’t jumped on it you need to register soon! Let me know if you’re running and I’ll see you there! #ColtStrong#bibravepro#bibchat#marathontraining#chevronhoustonmarathon#runhouston
Houston you never disappoint! The course, the spectators... incredible! I went into this race with no expectation of getting a PR. So no PR this race. I just needed to try out my foot and see where I was post fracture. My goal was just to run the entire race with no stops and no pain. I’ve only been back to running for about 7 weeks and I hadn’t really trained. My focus has just been about rebuilding, learning to eat and fuel enough, and just time on my feet. I got into the corral that morning and decided to stick with about an 8:45 pace. I knew I could likely just cruise at this pace and get to the finish. It was so cold! I felt like every muscle was tight or frozen! It took me about 3 miles to warm up and get comfortable. I finished under 2 hours and I’m happy with that! I traveled to Houston by myself and I had a lot of time to just sit and think. Maybe too much time! 🤨 It was a great weekend but also muddled, and frustrating at the same time. I think time with yourself is a great thing. Everybody needs a little time to face your demons head on. What I walked away with this weekend consists of these 3 things! ~Reset, readjust, refocus, restart as many times as YOU need to. ~YOU are the only person you need to be good enough for. ~and last but not least... forget the mistakes, remember the lesson. ✌🏼 journey on #ColtStrong
W weekend to przede wszystkim trzeba... naładować bateryjki :D Tydzień regeneracyjny kończę szykowaniem się do kolejnego mikrocyklu, więc czas zapewnić energię nie tylko sobie ale i urządzeniom pomiarowym :D
What an eventful long run at Riverhead Forest. First I left my car key in the car which I remembered by 4th km and I wasn't even sure if it was there. Then I tripped twice face on ground 😂 Bloody roots. And of course as I had anticipated since it's my first time here, I got lost many times but I found out that the #garminfenix has a little map on it so I just followed it heading back. 27km overall at 6:12 pace with 407m elevation gain. Riverhead was mostly runnable apart from the rocky parts and the heat played a big role wearing me out. Just happy to get this one done 7 weeks before the race. 😊🌿 #runhappy#trailrun#riverhead#nztrailrunning#summer#ouch#toohot
I see his name and it brings me to tears. Life is sometimes just like a race. There comes a point when it all seems like too much. You get too tired to fight anymore. You want to give up. But that’s when the real fight and the real work begins. Turn the pain into power. 👊🏼 Fight the fight, finish the race, keep the faith. #ColtStrong#chevronhoustonmarathon#aramcohalfmarathon#houmarathon#runhouston
