*PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENT POST*
Yesterday officially marked 2 years from I chose to become vegan. I had no idea what I was doing at the time. I watched Gary Yourofsky's video, 'The Best Speech You Will Ever Hear' on Youtube. By the time that video ended I had already made the choice to go vegan. I knew I couldn't stay disconnected to what I was choosing to eat any longer.
In these 2 years my only regret is that I didn't go vegan sooner.
There is no such thing as 'humane slaughter'.
Back in November I also got involved in an animal activism group known as 'Direct Action Everywhere - Northern Ireland' who fight for animal rights. Since then I have been involved in three protests, the third was today. I have met so many new like-minded friends who are an inspiration to me, they welcomed me to food meet-ups and I even hiked up a mountain with some of them last week.
I can also say that I now have a lot of energy and I feel healthier (both physically and mentally). Before changing my diet I barely ate, and when I did it was junk food. I also fainted regularly but since going vegan I haven't fainted once.
If you've read this far then please go watch the video I watched by Gary Yourofsky and educate yourself. Go vegan. Get involved in an animal activism group. Use your voice to stand up for the voiceless.
She was a pig. Like you, she was unique, a one and only. I say was, because I know she was callously murdered shortly after her picture was taken.
You see, at that moment, she and many others were in a concentration truck, just moments away from their final destination: a slaughterhouse where, every day, over 7,000 innocent lives are violently stolen.
She was so afraid, and her shaken body so dirty. But, didn’t she have beautiful eyes?
Some of the other ones that were with her were frantically biting the metal, desperate to escape their fate.
Some others were vomiting on others… drenched in pure fear.
I guess that most were just wondering WHY?
What do you think she, the pig with Mother Earth eyes, was thinking when her picture was taken?
I looked into her eye, and I wondered… why this hatred towards us? I don’t understand… is there any particular reason why? It doesn’t make any sense. Each bit of information learned and each sight witnessed only breaks my heart a little more. Yes, I now understand why Rigodon was so keen to protect me from the horrors of the real world.
Go ahead, look into that one visible eye and tell me what you see. Could this be the eye of your child, your parent, your best friend or a total stranger perhaps? Can you recognize the beauty of life, the innocence, the soul?
Humans, why do you seem to choose to hide from the truth?
Today marks my first week as a vegan (was previously vegetarian). I know it isn't much, but I couldn't be happier about the transition. It has sparked up a passion in me for health that I've never had before. Mostly because of the animals, and 20% of it comes from just wanting to feel better all around. I also don't feel like I'm depriving myself of anything. I'm always full (of good things), and it feels lovely to know that I'm not hurting anything or anyone. I also just discovered Gary Yourofskys speech about the reality of things and I couldn't stop crying. Sometimes it can be so hard not to be ashamed of being human. I urge you all to watch his speech and quit being so ignorant. It's also important to know what is going into our bodies that can cause so many horrific diseases. I'm so excited to continue this, and I know for certain that I will never go back to meat, dairy or any animal products. Feeling very inspired. #garyyourofsky#gonevegan#firstweekvegan ❤️❤️❤️❤️
📚✒Special delivery arrived, so the Fox is busy signing and sending copies - sit down and listen to Benjamin sharing the Truth and dropping invaluable knowledge!
Had to take a little bit off the front of this because I didn't fully agree 100% but that's what reposting stuff is all about. I absolutely believe in God. When it comes to the Bible Jesus and organized religion things get a little more complicated.
@Regranned from @compassionate_earthling - Ever notice that people translate the bible to our convenience #thoushallnotkill#garyyourofsky#meatismurder - #regrann
😍Thank you very much for the Big love @vegan_education_center Now I'm getting ready to make the movie 😉 - #repost - WOW! WHAT A STORY! We see a Movie in the making here!! Yes, let’s wake up!
Follow the adventures of Benjamin as he uncovers the atrocities and learns about the mind-altering truths of the industry and a society that turns a blind eye towards the needless suffering of animals.
Benjamin & company will embark on a journey to seek out the legendary Rainbow Warriors (aka Vegans) in order to help save all animals! The protagonists will come to be rescued and joined on their quest by the Rainbow Warrior himself, Gary Yourofsky!
Follow author @the_wild_ibanez as she does an incredible job interweaving the ugly but truthful information about animal agriculture and society at large into a story that will inspire readers of all ages to speak up and make a difference!
Here are some powerful messages Benjamin wants humans to know:
1. “The problem is not how you use and kill animals. The problem is that you use and kill animals. You see, all use is exploitation. And all exploitation is abuse.” - Benjamin
2. “I learned that, each year, humans kill more than 50 million animals to steal their fur: minks, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, beavers, raccoons, lynxes, chinchillas, muskrats, opossums, otters, skunks, weasels….” – Benjamin
3. “Watching Gracie’s fear and anxiety, most of you – as an Earthling and an animal – are able to empathize directly with two things that you have in common with her: fear and a strong desire to live. And that, my fellow Earthling, is The Connection, and it is so powerful that it can save not just one life, but billions of lives. It can kick-off the real catalyst that would take humankind to the next evolutionary step, reconnecting you with the lost reminiscence of humanity’s role as protectors of the Earth and its inhabitants.” – Benjamin
A must buy! Fox Ibanez’s book will leave you feeling compelled to go out and save the world for those without a voice. Get it on Amazon! www.foxibanez.com
I went with a good friend today at lunch to run errands. Our first stop was the grocery store...
Many of our conversations revolve around food and cooking, we also discuss topics like pollution, politics, and spirituality.
I was not sure what to say as I watched her load up on ground beef for chili, yogurt for her breakfast, and jugs of milk... After all hadn’t she professed to be against cruelty towards animals? And wasn’t she pro equal rights?
Hadn’t she told me that she prefers to eat healthy?
One of my role models in the Vegan community is #garyyourofsky
I remember him saying that friends and family are the hardest to talk to.
I have realized this to be true because we don’t want to “offend” them or push them away while the whole time our hearts are breaking and stomach turning as we watch them mindlessly following their normal routine...
Gary Yourofsky is an animal rights activist and has been banned from 5 different countries for being an "international terrorist" when all he was doing was helping animals and rescuing them from slaughterhouses. This guy is a hero 👊 -----------@garyyourofsky #Fortheanimals#garyyourofsky#vegan#notaterrorist
A terrorist is someone who threaten and kill innocents. Gary Yourofsky has been banned from 5 countries as an 'international terrorist', only while rescuing and protecting innocent beings, that otherwise would have been doomed to die. To me it sounds like the opposite of a terrorist. Like a hero! 💚#vegan#veganactivist#garyyourofsky
Last weekend pizza, and this one burger at 100% vegan restaurant @wulfandlamb 😊Ok, ok... I had another burger on Friday, a homemade one 😈
No tortured animal corpses or their bodily secretions for me, just pure plant power. Because I respect animals, and when I say that I'm against animal abuse I actually mean it.
I happily devoured the here pictured delicious burger that came with melty cashew cheeze, oven-baked chips (combo of sweet potatoes and normal ones) with tomato dip and cashew aioli, plus I also shared a mac 'n' cheese.
And to drink... my beloved obsession: matcha green tea. Did you know that green tea has truly outstanding viral-protection and antioxidant properties? It must be #greentea , not others. Head over to @nutrition_facts_org to learn more about this from Dr Michael Greger. I can tell you this: I just don't get sick, and I can only put this down to the ridiculous amounts of green tea I've been drinking now for so many years. I can be surrounded by people with colds and flu and it won't affect me in the slightest. I won't get sick. And yep, I do love bragging about this 😉😁🍃
We have been brainwashed into believing that we need to eat animals and their bodily secretions. Filthy lies. They told us that some animals don't count or matter, that's it's ok and normal to commodify their bodies and turn them into inanimate objects such as sandwiches and shoes. All this in the name of financial profit and business interests. Preposterously, they told us that we can still be animal lovers while we exploit and kill them.
Enslaving, torturing and murdering animals is WRONG, and can't be morally justified, even if everyone is doing it.
Living non-vegan means to be the direct cause of animals being enslaved, abused, tortured, having their throats slit, murdered and dismembered into pieces.
It doesn't have to be this way; we don't need to eat or use animals in any way at all. We must put an end to this barbarian and sickeningly vile lifestyle. This is in our very hands and control. We can easily say NO MORE, acknowledge and apologize the suffering and death our past blind self caused, make some simple amends and move forwards.
Living vegan is easy. If you need help, just get in touch and I'll show you the way, the how and answer to all your questions.

#vegan#govegan#documentales#cowspiracy#garyyourofsky
Today I discovered one of my most admired activists has stopped doing activism for animals due to becoming burnt out. Although some of his words were offensive to some people, a lot of it makes perfect sense to me. I think more people need to take away the true meaning behind passionate messages before turning away it's entirety based on uncomfortablness. Understanding is key to learning, you dont have to love the person or how they express it, but love the lessons. This is for #garyyourofsky and my step into activism, I may not feel comfortable using my voice, but I found another way to spread the message. #activism#graffiti#leavemytitsalone#vegan#newlove#sharethelove#sharethemessage
Human, can't you see that the non-human animals aren't here for you to use and abuse as you please? They are here *with* you.
They are not commodities, not objects, not ingredients, not slaves, not machines, not means of transport, not entertainment, not a form of currency, not sandwiches, shoes or handbags.
The human supremacy myth sprouted from the very precarious human ego, turning you into barbaric fools.
Can't you see?
Can't you hear?
Can't you feel?
Can you care?
Trigger warning: rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse
Animal rights is very much a social justice issue. According to Dictionary.com the term "Rape" is defined as "unlawful sexual intercourse or any other sexual penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth of another person, with or without force, by a sex organ, other body part, or foreign object, without the consent of the victim." The term "Speciesism" is defined as "discrimination in favor of one species, usually the human species, over another, especially in the exploitation or mistreatment of animals by humans." When we deny another female's sexual trauma based on her species, we are practicing speciesism. Veganism is, in part, about changing this widely accepted perception.
In addition, factory farm workers are sexually exploited every day in this country. I encourage you to watch PBS Documentary "Rape in the Fields." "If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men." - Francis of Assisi

HAS OUR LIBERATION CRUSADE BEGUN?
The day Rigodon confirmed the existence of the Rainbow Warriors was the happiest day of my life. For the first time, I didn’t just see an infinite pitch black tunnel filled with the atrocious horrors of our miserable animals’ lives. Now, over there, at the end of the black tunnel, was something else - a shimmering light. Not very bright perhaps, but clearly visible, and undoubtedly glistening. Vibrantly buzzing. That light is something, and it just could help make the horrors stop forever. That light is hope.
In a world overrun by carnists, the Rainbow Warriors represent justice, and they carry a light of hope. Hope for the animals, hope for a better world, and hope for the return of humanity to being a part of nature and life again, rather than ferociously opposing it at every encounter.
It should be such a simple concept to understand, how did it become so unashamedly corrupted and blurred by the human ego? Humans are supposed to be highly intelligent, yet you destroy and kill every hour of every day.
Your role was to be Earth and all the Earthlings’ protectors, not the exterminators! Can you fix this? Can you?

There are only 2 options: Vegan or non-vegan (=pro animal abuse & murder)
@the_vegan_soldier says it perfectly clear and just as it is. Thank you for this excellent post.
Ask any vegan what they regret about being vegan, and the answer will always be the same: "I wish I'd done it sooner." Most of us were vegetarian first because we didn't know better until we were properly educated with a clear and consistent message. We all wish we'd known better from the start, that we hadn't been misinformed by speciesist and welfarist advocacy.
Why, then, would we encourage anyone to make the mistakes we wish we hadn't made? When we were vegetarian, we didn't know better. We know better now, so why not educate better? Why not avoid the needless exploitation and murder of animals by refusing to promote it? Before being vegan, I was vegetarian. I wish I'd been told the whole truth from the start, so that I wouldn't have continued demanding the exploitation of sentient beings as a vegetarian. For this reason, we must refuse to suggest or recommend any form of exploitation as a solution to exploitation.
Will many non-vegans still insisting on being vegetarian first? Yes, as long as the message they receive from so many inconsistent and uneducated activists tells them to. But if we all stop recommending they exploit animals, if we encourage nothing less than veganism, people who make a change for truly ethical reasons will understand. We owe it to the victims to at least try to be clear and focused in our message. We owe it to the victims not to actively promote their enslavement and murder by implying that any form of exploitation is morally better than any other.
Living vegan means standing for the victims of oppression. It does not mean advertising oppression as an acceptable solution. Living vegan means promoting veganism- nothing less. If we treat reducetarianism and welfarism as options, non-vegans will choose those options, and we'll be responsible for the harm they cause for telling them it's acceptable.
Live vegan. Promote nothing less.
Educate yourself to educate others.
Support the abolitionist approach.
They said that vegans speaking up wouldn't make any difference, that nothing would ever change... In the meantime, @pizzahutuk said "Vegans, you asked. We listened. Our Vegan Cheese is here to stay in ALL HUTS NATIONWIDE!"
And I had the chance to check it out... fluffy, packed with veggies and melty vegan cheese 🤗 😍As a plus, you also get to have unlimited fresh veggies from the salad bar.
And yes, the pizza bases are vegan, of course👌🏽💥
