#repost from @gkretchy Majesty at Play. York, ME. For those that may not know, I love to photograph wildlife, when I get the chance, and today I got to see something pretty cool. While watching a male and female bald eagle sit in separate trees, the male finally moved to sit with his mate, but not before some playful teasing. It was a great sequence of shots, but this is a different edit than I posted on my personal page. They are majestic and amazing birds to watch, for sure.. #themainebeaches#eagles#gatewaytomaine#wildlifephotography

Sun, sand, surf, and social media: putting together my next social media workshop. Killed a tree so that I could read hard copies at the beach. Old school pen, paper, and highlighter -- and some fresh air -- was highly inspiring.

For those of you that have followed me since before July you might have seen the destruction of my Nikon D810 off the bricks of Boston. It was a sad moment for sure. But after a month I got it back in one piece and after sending some dollars over to Japan to get it fixed. So when I needed a backup camera I elected for a less expensive Sony A6300. It felt foreign and the dynamic range of the photos was not as good as the Nikon. But I was determined to get the shot of a place I vividly remember as a kid. Pemaquid Point lighthouse. I was there around sunset and the parking lot was packed, but much like many places you go if you wander a little ways off the main path you get less people and a different view. The clouds gave some awesome backdrop and the foreground of the Maine granite provided the foreground. At that point all that was left is to get it framed and see what was next. ----------------------------------------- ISO 100 / 17mm / f 11 / 1/40 sec
Lessons learned: Yes. A really great camera can help you if you blow a shot or want to blow it up big, but you can still take some amazing shots if you know what settings should be on your camera and how to best frame the shot. ----------------------------------------- #earthofficial#adventurenthusiasts#Visualsofearth#worldprime#face_of_the_earth#bestnatureshot#ig_thisworld#theBest_capture#exploremaine#mainetheway#igersmaine#gatewaytomaine#ig_mainecoast#naturalmaine#ignewengland#igersnewengland
