On this day in 1982, During an Ozzy Osbourne concert in Des Moines, Iowa, a member of the audience threw a bat onto the stage. The bat laid motionless, and thinking it was a fake rubber toy, Ozzy picked it up and attempted to bite its head off. As he did this, the bat started to flap its wings and Ozzy soon realized it wasn't fake! After the show Ozzy was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for rabies shots. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" is Black Sabbaths 5th album and was released on December 1, 1973. This is the album that changed everything for me. It was my intro to heavy metal when I was 14 years old. I remember specifically where I was when I heard the title track, "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" for the very first time. It was the first time I had heard any Black Sabbath. Been a huge fan ever since!
Never Say Die! é o oitavo álbum de estúdio da banda de heavy metal Black Sabbath, lançado em setembro de 1978. Foi o último disco gravado com a formação original; em 1979 o vocalista Ozzy Osbourne saiu devido a seu problema com drogas. . .
Welp, of course Instagram would screw up as soon as I was done making this very post... and of course, they still don't have an automatic save draft feature like everything else does in 2018? So with that mood ruining moment, here's the super short version of what WAS going to be all explained out and such:
Tour exclusive CD being sold at their final tour dates, usually sold out within minutes at shows.
4 unreleased songs from 13, 3 live songs from the same album and also Under the Sun.
Wasn't released anywhere else and only on this specific CD, prices usually around $100+ now.
Ozzfest Productions found a storage full of various items and plan to sell said items for 10% off + some proceeds to charity.
A handful of these CDs were among the items found, still sealed and everything and were sold at the price they were sold at the shows (plus 10% as well).
I jumped on that, and I jumped high.
Was a personal holy grail of mine to an extent, and never thought I'd ever have this due to rarity/price.
There's the tl;dr version. Swipe left to see things like the message they put regarding this CD and the tracklisting, all that kewl stuff! 😎
Black Sabbath, 1970.
Published by Westfalenpost, in december 21, 1970: "A surprise that is almost sensational for Peter Reuter, portrait drawer from Hagen, after a concert of world-famous pop group 'Black Sabbath', who bought a drawing from his recently published portfolio. The drawing is supposed to be the new album cover for the band. The album will be released worldwide. Peter Reuter has been invited to London for late January of 1971, to create a color version of the black and white drawing. Photo: Peter Reuter (front) with Black Sabbath"

-fact of the day-
Tony Iommi once accidentally set Bill Ward on fire during the recording of Heaven and Hell, sending him to the hospital with third-degree burns on his arms and legs. “The next day his mother phoned me up,” says Iommi, and said, ‘You barmy bastard. It’s about time you grew up.’ " (Photo above from the Paranoid sessions at the Regent Studio in 1970)
