They say you forget your troubles on a trout stream, but that's not quite it. What happens is that you begin to see where your troubles fit into the grand scheme of things, and suddenly they're just not such a big deal anymore.

SMASHED IT 👊🏽
I’ve been challenging myself with 2 mins worth of planks every day for 9 days down and getting to that 1 min point is getting easier as the days go on.
As the plank requires my whole body to keep the stable I always ensure it’s my first ‘ab exercise’. I find that if I try to complete it at the end of all my other ab exercises that my core is extremely fatigued and I always hyper extend through my back causing pain and obviously we want to keep the spine flat. ✖️
Today’s mini ab circuit post Back & Tris went like this:
1️⃣ 2 x 1 min planks
2️⃣ 3 x 30 Cable Crunches
3️⃣ 3 x 20 per side Oblique crunches with 10kg plate in each hand (standing)
4️⃣ 100 reverse crunches 😰 I may or may not have made some mini screams through this. ✖️✖️✖️✖️

Spring is coming and over the next two weeks I’m going to be showing you some of my favorite spring trip destinations! First up is the Roan Highlands. The breakdown: - Located on the border of North Carolina & Tennessee
- 14 mile hike from Carvers Gap to 19E can be done as a day hike or you can backpack overnight
- Big open vistas and unique trail makes for some incredible views
- Extremely crowded on weekends (gotta be honest) but for good reason
- Great for first time backpackers!
Click the @outbound link in my bio for more details and directions for this hike!! My recommendation would be to take of two or three days during the week and have a little vaca and miss the crowds!
Have you done this hike?? Any tips? 👂🏼👇🏼
The Reist knives version of a "bird and trout". We might just call it the "Gobbler and Chub" which might lack a certain regalness but it's probably pretty accurate. Who's interested in an American made small game fixed blade?
The most helpful practice for me when I feel unfocused is to go for a walk in nature. There's a calming effect on my nervous system that pacifies me. The Japanese term for this is called "forest bathing" where you take a walk under the trees and the coolness and the smell and the silence wash over you. I feel cleansed, clear-minded and relaxed afterwards. – It's also when I get some of my most inspired ideas.
Not everyone has a forest outside their door, but parks, bodies of water, anywhere you feel peace and calm counts. #selfcare#nature
“Life will always be complicated and sometimes we get stuck not knowing where to go anymore, but fret not. This shouldn’t keep you away from moving on and finding the little things that will give you even the simplest joy in life and the light that will set you free.” - (words of encouragement) from Raniel Hernandez @rayniyel | SinoPinas
