Decided to add in a seated dumbbell shoulder press into my workout today. I did 40 pound dumbbells for sets of 10-12 reps. Definitely enjoyed doing these as a alternative to a standing/seated barbell press or even a standing dumbbell press. Seated dumbbell press will emphasize the deltoids leading to rapid growth. -

If you get a pinch in the front of your shoulder every time you reach or lift your arm then you might be experiencing some form of shoulder impingement. Usually this is because your shoulder blade has rolled forward, closing down that joint in the front of your shoulder. So now every time you lift your arm there's no space for the joint to move... Ouch! Start incorporating this postural correction to your every day life and you'll notice that "pinch" will start to decrease. 
Exercise: move your shoulder blades DOWN and BACK alllll day!

Just because ive been out of town for a week doesnt mean i can continue to slack off when i get home! While hubby and my friends were all out watching star wars (which i have no interest in) i managed to kick my ass into gear and meal prep. I ate like shit on the cruise and unfortunately a small cold followed me off the boat and im stuck w the sniffles. So since i need my body to battle this cold ASAP, ill slowly ease back into my workout routine while focusing on my food. Lunch is turkey taco bowls, dinner is beef and barley stew, and also heres a batch of christmas cookies im giving out as gifts. I WOULD keep some for myself but they are actually waaaay too sweet for me now! Thats what happens when you try and keep junk food out of your mouth i guess 🙄

Forgot my knee sleeves, forgot my weight shoes, dropped 8kg since my last squat PB attempt... and still smashed it! 155kg/341lb (1.75xbw) - grinder and a half but it came up 😃

Im heading into week 2 and excited to see an extra set tact on to each exercise and an increase in load on squats...perhaps other exercises as well...the determining factor of an increase in load will be "how i feel" at the time.

Having a structured program that allows you to track and measure progress is vital when it comes to making "gains"...jumping from program to program and skipping leg day won't see you progress as you would following a specific plan.

As you can see by the name of this program..."swole is the goal". The purpose of this block is maintain as much strength as possible and have structured sessions that are "productive enough" to enduce hypertrophy. -
I say "productive enough" because training doesn't mean everything has to go to failure. Drops sets and the like have their place, but as research and science have proven...its not necessarily the most effective way to build muscle. -
Sure...our idols from the golden era of bodybuilding trained chest, back, legs, shoulders and arms once a week on any given rotation and saw great results...but lets not kid ourselves...these "enhanced" athletes could get away with it. If you're a natural athlete and want to make true progress...then I have two words for you "progressive overload".

Be smart with training...don't just chase the pump...yes the pump is great...but the pump doesn't last forever and is gone within a couple hours...where as training with progress and longevity in mind your physique goals and potential can go to another level...providing you are patient enough and give it the time required. Building muscle takes time...how you use that time is up to you.

The reason you hear this line so much is because of what people eat late at night. I know for me, the later it gets..... the less self control I have. My inner fat kid comes out and will eat ANYTHING.

My advice is to avoid carbs later on at night. Since you’re most likely not active at these times, you’re less likely to utilize and burn through these carbs. You can however eat protein.

My favorite bed time snack is Level-1 and 8oz of liquid egg whites. I mix these 2 and pound this every night before bed. A sustained assimilation protein will feed your body with a steady flow amino acids while you’re sleeping. This is beneficial because your body tends to go catabolic (breaking down muscle) while you’re sleeping. Save your gains people. Eat some protein before bed. #s2faction #dominateyourlife

Kettlebell squat high pull.
Key things for focus on:
- squatting down to lower the weight, rather than bending over.
- keeping the spine neutral and in line
- chest tall with shoulders down and back
- push knees out in the squat to engage legs and glutes (and to make room for the bell)
- pull the elbows high

I see this exercise done poorly a lot and it makes my back hurt watching someone bend over each rep rather than squat down. Use those ham steaks and keep proper form!
