Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, for being ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth. #ghandi#truth#haveavoiceofyourown#dctdesigns
The Cotton Plant. 🤓...cotton dates back as far as 3000 B.C. Indus Valley and the name comes from the Arabic word Qutn which means fancy. Prior to the industrial revolution, cotton was grown in three colours; rust, purple and brown. Cotton Gin is not actually an alcoholic drink, its a device that was invented in 1973 by the american inventor Eli Whitney the device quickly separated the seeds from the cotton fibre and changed the face of the cotton industry, this invention led to a near monopoly of american cotton in the UK. The main difference between regular cotton and Egyptian cotton is that the fibres are longer giving a smoother more luxurious feel and helps to prevent piling. There are approx forty species of cotton in the world. In 1931 Ghandi was invited to Lancashire to visit cotton mill workers to understand the hardship the workers faced, some of the old cotton weavers had tried to tell him how bad things were and he replied “My dear, you have no idea what poverty is” Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. The Ghandi museum in Madurai was very moving and inspiring, and it pulled no punches. The above quote felt very timely and important--something we can all think about in these fearful times. I wanted to add some wise words spoken by Albert Einstein: "Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth." (said of Mahatma Gandhi)

There will be plenty of people telling you that you can’t do something, that you aren’t good enough, that you don’t have experience, that you start to many things and don’t finish them, etc.
Most of the time, these are all simply a projection of their own fears and limitations.
The enemy that is the most influential over our thoughts decisions and actions is ourselves.
Once we learn to have influence over ourselves, no matter what comes our way, we can prevail.
Be the coach to yourself that you wish you had. Keep yourself accountable through the good times, yet be the supporting coach that will get you through tough times and teaches you to develop grit.
