🇬🇧 Beefeater hasn’t become one of the largest gin brands, just by being good at marketing and distribution – without a very good product, it would never work! Beefeater goes back to 1863 and does not only have proud traditions and old recipes but have also hired some of the world’s best Master Distillers that gets to play with new editions of the gin. An example is Beefeater 24 made by head distiller Desmond Payne, where grapefruit zest, Japanese and Chinese tea has been added to the original Beefeater recipe. 24 refers to the number of hours the botanicals gets to soak in alcohol before it’s used. The gin is made for a classic GT when paired with a Thomas Henry Tonic or Fever-Tree Indian Tonic and red grapefruit wheel, which matches and compliments the taste notes in the gin ❤️

Tuesday night is as good as any to open a bottle of #brockmansgin , a #gin that is a step away from the pack. Traditional this is not, low on juniper, high on blackberries and blueberries. As such this gin pairs well with either berry to enhance the sweet fruitiness, alternatively add some grapefruit peel to aid the citrus in this gin. 📷: @brockmansgin
Dry January you say???No, not for me, I’m too busy marvelling at my latest ginspiration 🙌 A delight upon the gin quaffing tongue, All hail Silent Pool Gin, distilled in Surrey, perfect with a Fever tree mixer 😍The beautiful bottle I have has a glass stopper, need to get me some of those gin glasses for the full experience #gin#ginspiration#silentpoolgin#ginlover#fevertreetonic#ginbottle

We’re very excited to open our new bottle of @elephantgin served with rosemary. It’s a lovely piney & sweet floral gin with a smooth, woody & spicy finish. Plus a percentage of profits go to help elephants & each batch is named after one which you can learn all about in their gorgeous gift boxes. 🇩🇪 😲 So, we’ve just discovered this German beauty @skin_gin !! Absolutely delicious!! 😲 🇩🇪 ✨✨✨
The naming, the design, the aroma on opening, the taste of the gin itself and brand ethos are meant to well and truly get under your ‘skin.’ From the feel of the textured bottle to aesthetics, Skin Gin tickle all senses with beautiful simplicity. .✨✨✨
All botanicals are hand picked and distilled on a base of wheat alcohol before being mixed with spring water to achieve their 42% ABV. Chosen to ultimately create a less herbal and more aromatic experience, Skin Gin uses 4 different citrus (lime, orange, lemon and grapefruit peel) as well as juniper, coriander seed and mint. Specifically, the mint is Moroccan and coriander from Vietnam, both regions known for producing the respective botanicals to have huge flavours.
👃 On the nose: Skin Gin’s aromas burst out of the glass. Fragrant wafts of mint and pink grapefruit emerge in a heady mix. ✨✨✨
👅 To taste: Lively to say the least!! Big booming minty tones and a touch of coriander give way to a pervasive fresh citrus.
🍸 To Serve: Over lots of Ice with a A premium Indian Tonic (we’ve chosen @fentimansltd ) garnished with a big wedge of Grapefruit. Gorgeous!!! .
Copperhead-The Gibson Edition!
The Gibson is a popular cocktail classic. It is almost the same as a Dry Martini, combining Gin with dry vermouth, but with a cocktail onion instead of lemon zest (or olive for the lovers of the Dirty version). Gibson is also the name of Marian Beke’s bar, in London.
Copperhead – The Gibson Edition came from the collaboration between the Belgian distillery and the famed bartender seeking a product that was dry and saltier, which Marian Beke had never found until now.
This new version of Copperhead, the third since the brand’s creation since 2014, uses five of the botanical from the original recipe – angelica, cardamom, coriander seed, orange peel and, of course, juniper – but a bouquet of 14 more spices, traditionally used in the pickling process is also added. Thus nutmeg flower, pepper, bay leaf, dill and fennel, amongst others, were added to confer a warmer and more spiced aroma to this Gin. To increase the complexity even further, and to smooth off the edges, it is finished with a touch of 8 year old Belgian Genebra.
This is clearly a Gin aimed at the cocktail market, principally for Martinis, but according to the brand, it works well as a Gin and Tonic, too, although distinctly a drier one.
RADIUS LAB GIN (BATCH NO 5) “Test & Create”; (@radius_distillery )
Juniper berries are not always used in Gin (all though I’m pretty sure you all-gin drinkers would believe so 😇) but also in herbal medicine 💉and certain foods. Although they are called berries, they are part of the cone and not a true berry. When consuming large amounts of juniper berries, it could cause mild toxicity symptoms 🤢 (So that’s why I feel the way I do “the day after” 😇)
BOTTLE & DESIGN
One word comes to mind looking at this bottle; Elegance! 👌🏽From its wooden lid cap to the clear, almost invisible glass with a small patch on the back, stating the ingredients, the distillery’s GPS position (excellent feature), batch No., and ABV. On the front two black labels, DYMO labels, stating the brand and the batch number. A cool and modern feature that gives an overall "high-end" feeling
When pouring into a glass the aromas explodes 🎉out of the glass. Intense juniper compiled with coriander and mustard.
It’s a great first sniff, and you want to explore more (and often); which I off course did ☺️
When sipping it neat it’s as with the scent; a refreshing mix of the classic juniper taste, coriander and yellow mustard seeds. This could go very nicely with a classic Martini 🍸(any Martini riffs really, like the , Tuxedo No. 2, Bowtie or The Suit, which I have all made in the past here on IG; do check them out whenever you feel for it) 💪
5 CL Gin
3 CL Kina Lillet Blanc (@lilletdk )
1 dash of Olive bitters (@thebittertruthcompany )
Serve with plenty ice ❄️
Squeeze and insert lemon peel 🍋
Just a marvellous gin (Batch No 5) that everybody can enjoy. It satisfies the Juniper-fans as well as the more subtle cocktail crafters. It screams to be teamed up with a good Vermouth, but I’m confident it will dance just nicely with a good Tonic as well eg. Dry Tonic from @tailoredtonic
This gin is a must have in most gin cabinets and homebars. Did I mention it's Danish? 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
