#tiffanyhaddish new face for #groupon#girlstripmovie#willsmith#jadapinkettsmith#neworleansswamp#jimmykimmellive#canjunswaptour
Last summer, while promoting Girls Trip, comedian Tiffany Haddish appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. She told a delightful story about taking Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith on a Cajun swamp tour with a deal she had purchased on Groupon. Now, Haddish has been named as Groupon’s new spokeswoman, and as part of that deal, she will star in the company’s upcoming 30-second Super Bowl spot. “Nobody knows Groupon like I know Groupon. I’ve been speaking out for them for years,” said Haddish in a statement. “In fact, I should have already been their spokesperson. I’ve invested lots of money into buying Groupon deals, and it’s about time I got an even bigger return on my investment than just saving money at my favorite local businesses.” The 30-second spot’s creative will be handled by Groupon’s agency of record, O’Keefe Reinhard & Paul. The ad will appear during the fourth quarter of the game. “We’re thrilled to have one of the hottest names in entertainment as our new spokesperson,” said Groupon’s chief marketing officer Vinayak Hegde in a statement. “Tiffany’s award-winning talent and well-known passion for our brand make her the perfect choice to serve as the face of Groupon.”
Ps. La version originale est beaucoup plus fun. 👌🏾

RAUNCHY! “We haven’t hung in five years. This weekend is about us. We are here together. Today is the last day that we will ever be this young’. Girls Trip is a movie we’ve seen many times over, when friends reconnect after being apart for so many years, you already know there are issues within the group that needs resolving, and issues within themselves that needs to be looked at. And although you could already see the ending coming a mile away, it’s what’s done in-between that makes it that much funny and in its own way, enduring. When four lifelong best friends; Ryan, Sasha, Lisa, and Dina travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival, they are in for an adventure of a lifetime as sisterhoods are rekindled, wild sides are rediscovered, and there's enough dancing, drinking, brawling, and romancing to make even the Big Easy blush. Girls Trip takes you on a rip roaring, raunchy, belly aching of a good time. Director Malcolm D. Lee does a great job here, and with four main characters, each with their own story, he’s able to give each a great shared amount of screen time, without one overshadowing the other. Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish are the epitome of what it means to have great chemistry on screen. The way these four interact with each other, you have no reason to believe that they are such good friends. As each one manages to shine, it is Tiffany Haddish as Dina who is the one that stands out the most and the best. Not just the comic relief, but an important part of the cast. From beginning to end, with her crude, blunt, and eccentric attitude, Tiffany makes you laugh to the point your crying from laughter whether you would’ve of wanted to or not, and the scene with her giving an in depth demonstration of a grapefruit and banana, takes it to a whole new level. Girls Trip is funny as can be, and crude as it wants to be at the same time. With cringe worthy moments like the zip lining sequence or Kate Walsh’s character ‘Elizabeth’, the novelty ‘white friend’, as she’s doing and saying too much.(Review Continues In Comment)
Continuing my 'best-of by genre' list, today I give you my TOP 6 COMEDIES OF 2017. There were so many bad comedies in 2017 it was funny. I find I appreciate more a subtle, ironic/sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek comedy than the formulaic, over-the-top slapstick of films like Bad Moms Christmas. Here's what that looks like on a list:
1. Les Mauvaises Herbes (Bad Seeds): This Quebecois comedy about an isolated farmer growing weed is surprising, refreshing, touching, exciting and, best of all, hilarious. One of my favourite discoveries of 2017.
2. Bienvenue au Gondwana (Welcome to Gondwana): The sheer enjoyment I had watching this indie French political satire is one of the reasons I see a film every day in the cinema. I feel like I uncovered a precious jewel. 💎
3. Lego Batman Movie: As I'm certainly the most sarcastic person I know, I feel like Lego Batman and I have a lot in common.
4. Paddington 2: I actually enjoyed this one more than the original, and appreciated the childish glee I felt watching this during the holiday season.
5. Girls Trip: Far from perfect, but it got me to laugh out loud several times, and I went in against it, sure that it couldn't. Well played, Girls Trip.
6. Ouvert la Nuit: This small French comedy (featuring Amelia Poulain's Audrey Tautou) was not so much a laugh-out-loud joke fest, but a poignant and intimate look at Paris at night. 🗼
What did you think? Have I forgotten any?
Stay tuned tomorrow for my Top Nine Block Busters of 2017!
