Giving back takes many forms. Sharing your story (both failures and victories). Helping out a neighbor. Bringing someone to a meeting. Serving at your local CR or church. Feeding the homeless instead of walking by. Stoping and praying with someone who is hurting.
Whatever giving back looks like for you, never forget or get too busy to do this peice. Your recovery depends on it.
There's not many blokes like my brother In the nrl. Never been in trouble on or off the field. Every Wednesday and Saturdays he turns up to coach the under 6's gymea football team! Today I saw things I’ve never seen thanks to my friend and client @adamhudson4956 Adam Hudson.
Actually about 400 people saw things they’ve never seen before.
2 years ago Adam dreamed up his business @reliableeducationacademy while on a VisionQuest Bali Retreat.
He wanted to include an element of giving back.
So his company partnered up with the John Fawcett Foundation on Bali which does free eye operations to repair cataracts and restore people’s vision.
Some people just have really bad vision. Others are totally blind.
It’s a 20 minute operation that can completely change someone’s life.
Not just their ability to see, but their self worth.
Adam brought 28 of his students - and me - to Java to witness and participate in this “vision drive”. Over 6 days approximately 3000 people will have their eyes tested, many hundred will get free glasses, 400 will have the cataract surgery, and dozens will get free prosthetic eyes.
Talk about making a difference! Massive impact.
Emotions were flowing today.
It’s just impossible to not shed tears when a woman, who’s elderly mother can now see, looks you in the eyes and says, “Thank you, God bless you.” We’re going back again tomorrow to help with the eye tests, see more bandages come off, spread smiles, and cry a little more.
The truly amazing thing about this is that EVERYONE receives.
Thank you, Adam.
Wonderful to have Kaiden Brand from @hawthornfc join us at @southcroydonauskick this morning. The kids loved having someone else (albeit tall) to get involved in their clinic this morning. It was great to hear some of the well thought out questions from the kids as well. Some of us were lucky to get a photo and autograph. Tag us in your pictures if you scored a good pic #auskick2017#auskick#grassrootsfooty#thebeststartedaskidstoo#givingback @aflauskick
G I V I N G B A C K // Proud to announce that 10% of each soap's full retail price will be directly gifted to Melbourne charities.
We're supporting Fare Share, @fareshare_australia whose team of chefs and volunteers cook and deliver nutritious meals for the homeless, the elderly and kids in need.
In fact, a third of their meals are now provided to children.
Ingredients are sourced from their own garden, donations and perfectly good produce that would otherwise go to waste.
There's no doubt Melbourne adores its food - fancy smashed avo brunches, acai smoothies, poke bowls, pho! - but some are just grateful for a good hot meal. Everyone deserves to eat well, and no-one should feel hungry in this city.
Our online shop opens next week. Please support us so we can make our first big fat donation to Fare Share asap //
MOTHER GODDESS - GAIA 🌳🌸
We are so blessed on our beautiful planet Earth. The Great mother supports our daily survival and we are totally dependent upon her for everything. From Gaia we receive nurturing and nourishment for our body, mind and soul. This act of giving is a blessing and our sustenance, without which we wouldn't thrive. The transpersonal Earth Star Chakra and Gia Gateway Chakra help us keep our connection to the Great Mother Goddess. Through them, we can draw up her power into our feet, to stay grounded and anchored to her energy. 🌳
Gaia reminds us to nourish and nurture ourselves. To make our Well being a priority. Our personal happiness is essential, so it is important to take the time to invest in ourselves too. When we are in need of nurturing, we need to be willing to open up and allow others to nurture and support us. 🌳
Equally, as we receive/take from the Great mother, we must remember to give something back, by consciously choosing healthy life supporting and sustainable ways that replenish her. Whether that's through Green living or being mindful of how we utilise her natural resources.
Nurturing others through giving of our time, sharing, caring and loving, is a way of giving back. This not only benefits them, but ultimately benefits us and Gaia too. 🌳
There are so many ways to consciously plug in to Gaia everyday. It can be as simple as looking up into the sky, being in nature, taking care of a potted plant, grounding yourself or finding ways to nourish your body, mind and soul. If you feel unsteady, unsure, spaced out or ungrounded in anyway, take a moment to send your imaginary roots down into the Earth, and active your Earth and Gia Gateway Chakras. Black or Brown crystals such as Tourmaline, Obsidian, Mahogany Obsidian, Smokey Quartz, Hematite, Tigers Eye and Bronzite are fantastic for grounding.
ONE LOVE 😇🙏💚
