~Strawberry cream over night oats 🍓~
Threw this together in a mason jar last night to have this morning quickly before work and it was SO GOOD 👏🏻 I swapped out my usual granola for a crumbled lemon ginger @emmysorganics cookie (vegan and grain free) and I was blown away by how flavorful it was. 10/10 recommend 🙌🏻 .
▶️ in a mason jar mix 1 4% strawberry and rhubarb skyr @siggisdairy + 1/2 cup gf rolled oats @bobsredmill + 1 scoop collagen protein @tonicproducts ('kalefornia' for a discount) + 2 tsp chia seeds @foodsalive + 1/2 cup almond milk @califiafarms and store overnight + topped with sliced strawberries + blueberries + unsweetened coconut + coconut @squareorganics (use code 'kalefornia_kitchen' for 20% off + free shipping) + lemon-ginger cookie crumble @emmysorganics + almond cashew super butter @wild_friends
Today was more stressful than I thought it'd be, so much so that I missed posting in the morning. But I'm excited that I'll be attending the Everything Food Conference in Utah next May and I hope I'll be seeing many of you there! Holler below if you're going too. Tonight, after all the mayhem, I'm going to need the soft comfort of some more Kichadi, but I think I'll go with the traditional goopy version, but whether loaf or goop, this coconut chutney will remain a constant companion. Recipe below:
3/4 c grated fresh coconut
1/2 c water
1/4 c roasted gram
Salt, to taste
For the tempering
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. mustard seeds
1/2 tsp. urad dal (split black gram)
1 dry red chilli
5 curry leaves
Blend coconut, water, roasted gram and salt until smooth. Transfer to a serving bowl. Heat oil in a small pan and add mustard. The oil must be hot enough for the mustard to splutter within 2-3 seconds. Add the remaining ingredients and cook until the lentil turns golden brown and the curry leaves turn crisp.
Pour onto the ground chutney while the oil is still hot. Enjoy!

A month or so ago, my 6-year-old, Ford, said he was starting a "Girl Guru" stand where he would lure people over with free cookies, then sell them love advice for 100 bucks a pop. 💕💸 At the time, I felt as though Ford might not be the best person to run such a business, given the fact that the mere mention of a girly name practically made him heave in disgust 🤢 ('cause you know, cooties). Then today, I was made aware by his little brother, Luke, that it's alllll just an act. Not only does Ford love girls, he's actually married to a girl named Charlie ("the prettiest girl in school", according to Luke) that he met on the bus. Sealed it with a kiss + everything. 😳 I guess I should've known when he asked me if he could borrow the binoculars to go see if his favorite babysitter, Zane, was home. 🤔 I'm not sure how I feel about this revelation. 😐 One thing I know for sure: this chicken + veggie swoodle bowl was 👌🏼. How I did it 👇🏼 #savoringtheflavoring •
1. Veggies: the Brussels sprouts + spiralized sweet potato were sautéed in cast iron in white truffle ghee + seasoned with lavender-rosemary sea salt. Sautéed the spinach in the same skillet + seasoned with the same sea salt + a squeeze of lemon (the citrus helps your body absorb the iron in the spinach).
2. To serve, I topped the swoodles with the sprouts, the spinach, a 6-min boiled egg, some chopped + reheated leftover grilled chicken thigh + some mashed avocado topped with hemp seeds. 🤤

Today's lunch was quick, filling and delish! Pea & Avocado Smash Recipe--> 1 cup of @traderjoes english peas + 1 avocado + 1-2 cloves of chopped garlic + a little red onion + roughly 1 tbs cold pressed olive oil + salt, pepper & chili flakes. Chuck everything into a blender/food processor and pulse for consistency

السمن هو شكل من اشكال الزبده المصفاة تسخن الزبدة حتى تنفصل البروتينات (الكازين) والسكريات (اللاكتوز) عن الدهن .
اعتمادا على مصدر الزبدة المستخدمة ( الافضل عضويه ) ، يمكن ان تكون عالية في مضادات الأكسدة، و تساهم في مساعدة الجسم على امتصاص الفيتامينات والمعادن من الأطعمة الأخرى، وهي الفيتامينات A، D، E، و K.
ويعتبر السمن واحدة من أفضل الزيوت للخبز، و للتشويح على نار عاليه لان لديها نقطة تدخين عاليه
فائدة اخرى هو أن بعض الناس الذين لديهم حساسية من منتجات الألبان، أو عدم تحمل اللاكتوز يمكن في كثير من الأحيان ان يتحملو السمن .
٥٠٠جم من الزبدة - (الافضل غير مملح، عضوي من بقر اكل للعشب )
المعدات: قدرمتوسط الحجم، مصفاة بفتحات دقيقه ، علبة نظيفة للتخزين
١-ضع الزبدة في مقلاة متوسطة الحجم
٢-تسخن الزبدة على نار متوسطة حتى تذوب تماما. ثم تترك على نار خفيفة
٣- ستبدا في الظهور على الزبده رغوة، ثم فقاعات ، ثم يتوقف لفتره ثم تعود الرغوه مرة أخرى. يجب أن يكون الزبدة المذابة ذهبية جميلة في اللون تاخذ تقريبا ٢٠ دقيقه اعتمادا على درجة الحراره
وستتساقط قطع الحليب الجامده في الجزء السفلي من القدر و تكون داكنه اللون الرائحه ستكون كمخبز كورواسون 🙌🏼. 4-تترك لتبرد قليلا لدقائق ثم تصب ببطء من خلال المصفاة . يتم التخلص من القطع الصغيرة من بروتين الحليب،
ملاحظه : يحتفظ بالسمن لمده تصل إلى شهر في درجة حرارة الغرفة أو حتى لفترة أطول في الثلاجة

Its that time of the year , when i miss home. Yesterday was Mahalaya and today is the 1st day of Navaratri. Durga Puja is all about family gatherings and other social gatherings, shopping and gift-giving, feasting, pandal-visiting, lighting decorations, cultural events, idol immersion . Fasting and feasting has been two sides of one coin to every community. When readymade paneer was not readily available in the market, making chhena was a regular thing in many households. During Navaratri when many people stay away from onion and garlic , this Chhena Tarkari satisfies the flavour craving taste buds with a burst of flavours. I stuffed few pieces of cashew and raisin inside each ball to make it a little more fun for the girls. Wish you all a very happy 1st day of Navaratri . May Maa Durga blesses you all ❤️.

Plums and ginger are amazing together, and I dreamt this up because I thought of my mother eating plums with salt when they were sour. Wearing her yellow dress...Sitting in the sun. ☺️
These are ripe and so a little sweeter but some ginger salt, apple cider vinegar, sorghum molasses and fresh minced ginger made a delicious dressing and perfect side. Some roasted sesame for crunch, some mint just for kicks. Easiest dinner, just how we like it. #TheDaleyPlate#F52Fall
I am laying there thinking about life (like always - period) Having so many damn questions in my head like: What is the point of living in general if we all die one day? How can animals look into our eyes and know that we live too? Can they understand us? (Can they actually speak like us but they have this animal law that they are not allowed to do it? Could we actually heal cancer but the industry actually only wants us to be sicker to get more money? How big is the universe? Are there other living beings? WHAT THE HELL IS TIME???
