Is Coconut Oil a Bad Boy or a Good Girl?
Good Girl - Superfood
Coconut oil is a superfood because of its saturated fats. You may wonder isn't fat bad for you, but your body needs some fat from food. It's a major source of energy. It helps you absorb some vitamins and minerals. Fat is needed to build cell membranes, the vital exterior of each cell, and the sheaths surrounding nerves. It is essential for blood clotting, muscle movement, and inflammation.
Bad Boy – Saturated Fat
A diet rich in saturated fats can drive up total cholesterol, and tip the balance toward more harmful LDL cholesterol, which prompts blockages to form in arteries in the heart and elsewhere in the body. For that reason, most nutrition experts recommend limiting saturated fat to under 10% of calories a day.
Coconut oil is an individual matter
Like with all foods and drinks, it is a personal issue if and in which quantity the food is beneficial for you. If you like the taste, I certainly recommend......... ➡️ Read More: http://www.ingehart.com/coconut-oil-bad-boy-good-girl/
Look at all those veggies! Cutting them up was the hardest part of this stir-fry, the end result wasn't too bad! It could have used a bit more moistness but since I didn't want to use Gluten free soy sauce, I made my own brew with balsamic vinegar and Siracha sauce...but it needed a bit more of something, any suggestions?? Someone suggested sesame oil, I've never tried it, any reviews on it? ~
#focaccia nailed! Gluten free and vegan but this time, it's springy, moist (hate that word), chewy and even normal focaccia would say hi to it in the street, you just wouldn't know! The bonus? It's cheesy too. You need this in your life. I've delivered it to @coachhousecoffee with great sadness.
Need nourishing snacks that are easy to transport and eat on the run (including as fuel for running)? Check out what we're snacking on and fueling with this week at work, school, and on the go. My current favorite is the Fig Ginger Sesame Go Chews by @mommemeals , an addictive flavor combination I would never have dreamed up. And we’ve somehow gone through more than a couple bags of Maple 🍁 Pancake @paleonola in the past few weeks! Was more than a little excited to finally find a paleo granola without cashews. The @ever_bar was a new find, as I’m always looking for ways to sneak more hemp seeds into our diet. And the wee one prefers an old favorite, the @navitasorganics Coconut Hemp pumpkin seeds, which we order by the case from Amazon. Beyond their nutritional profiles, I appreciate that all of these are easy to stash in a bag, hold up well in warm temperatures, and don’t make a huge mess in the car. Happy snacking!
So my husband went to his 6 month dental cleaning yesterday.
The last time he went they said he had 6 spots that they were going to watch and his teeth bleed a lot
The dentist, the hygienist, and the assistant were so shocked because
5 of the spots are completely gone! And the 6th is on the repair PLUS no bleeding!
They were so impressed with his results they wanted to know what he did and want samples
Ditch the Chemicals!! Go Natural! Thieves for life!
Happy birthday recently to @fit.gui from @rep1_fitness_inc !
Sometimes simple is best. This rustic almond cake is made with only 7 ingredients: almonds, eggs (whites and yolks beaten separately), sugar, lemon zest, orange zest, almond extract, and icing sugar to dust. 🥚🍋🍊The cake is delicious and refreshing, and can be gluten-free depending on how you prepare the pan. But of course I made 3 so we’d have the same volume of cake as usual for the ravenous personal trainers. ☺️😋
Want to celebrate Halloween in a fun way but don't want all that refined sugar? These shortbread cookies only have 1/4 cup of maple sugar for 16 cookies (not including the chocolate lettering). Want the recipe? Head on over to the link in my profile ( https://thrivingonpaleo.com/paleo-halloween-tombstone-cookies/ ) #paleohalloween
One of my favorite snacks of all time is a cup of tea 🍵 and something sweet like a piece of cake 🍰 or a cookie 🍪 or a piece of pumpkin bread. Going Gluten Free+Dairy Free+Refined Sugar Free made it super hard to find my favorite snack in any grocery shop that I used to go 😢😖
So I decided to make my own Banana bread😊:
1.5 cup of gluten free flour
2 banana 🍌
1 egg 🥚
½ cup almond (coconut) milk
1/4 Cup Honey 🍯
5 tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Sea Salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Mash the bananas, melt the coconut oil and mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Pure it to your baking pan and put in the oven for one hour (or until it is golden outside and cooked inside). And ENJOY….

Still working on getting an adequate amount of protein at each meal! Thought I would mix it up this week with some canned tuna mixed with cucumber, tomatoes, black olives, celery and topped with lemon juice. I also added dill, salt and pepper 😋 light and refreshing!
