When you're in a lifelong relationship, especially one where you're seeing and interacting with the person everyday, things tend to add up. The facade of your dating or courtship life is over and you now see the person for all that they are - flaws and all. People will fail you; your spouse is not excempted from this. We are all human beings and part of being human entails slipups and misspeaks. However, we mustn't hold that against them. True love entails loving someone despite their shortcomings and disappointments. It transcends beyond words and penetrates into the soul. True love starts with Christ(1 John 4:8). We're empowered to love through our knowledge of God. Though we fail Him daily, He never holds our faults against us. His arms still remain open, His heart still entwined with ours. Forgiving is hard but harboring grudges or resentment is much harder in the long run. Forgive, forget, and move forward. The past is the past. Everyone has their respective shortcomings, but we mustn't seek to belittle our spouse because of their flaws. Don't bring up petty issues of the past; it's like reopening a wound after it's scabbed over - neither of which is beneficial. The person already feels bad enough as it is; don't add salt to the injury. Remember, this is the person that you've committed the rest of your life to, before God and man. A petty disagreement is not worth your marriage. Remember, Christ tells us to forgive one another as God forgives us. If we fail to forgive, God will not forgive us of our wrongdoings(Matthew 6:15). If we, who fail Christ daily are still able to be forgiven by the Almighty God, how much more our spouses? Forgive, forget, and move on brethren.
What's helped me with my relationships is reading 1 Corinthians 13:5 and substitituting "love" with my name. If I can't honestly say that the passage is a reflection of myself, then I know that there's work to be done. You can't change the other person - only God can. However, you can change yourself and allow God to work through your transformation.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.“ (1 Peter 4:8)
I remember a time when I needed to change my perspective on rejection. I was applying for Jobs in the sector I had been studying in and the application process was so tedious. But I pressed on.. and on.. it felt like years were going by and I was still getting No's! Until I changed my perspective. I took the No's I was getting to one step closer to the YES that God had for me! It was when I changed this way of thinking that doors started opening up.. and then I heard clearly from the Lord that He had far greater for me! It was hard to say No to the dreams and vision I once had - but it was easy to say YES to God's new and clearer vision of my life! So don't be disheartened at the No's - God is realigning you for something far greater! A greater position, a greater relationship, a greater opportunity, a greater door! Because ALL things work together for the Good of those who Love God! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Now I am so grateful for those No's, and I rejoice when I hear a No (oh and get quiet before the Lord to get understanding and realigning as to why!) I hope this encourages somebody! .

Imagine if God forgave us the way we forgive people? We say we’ve let it go but our actions, words and thoughts show otherwise. We are thankful that we serve a God who does not forgive us the way we forgive others! You’ve got 2BReal! “bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.”

ARE YOU AN ELIJAH OR AHAB?
If you have never read the story of Elijah and Ahab, I would encourage you to read 1 Kings 18...
At the beginning of the chapter, God says to Elijah, go and meet Ahab, I am going to send rain on the earth. Up to this point, there’s been no rain for 3 years...
So Elijah goes and tell Ahab the message. We see in 1 Kings 18:41 that Elijah clearly says I hear the sound of abundance of rain...
Ahab goes off to eat whereas Elijah goes off to pray what he heard into existence. As I read this chapter, God kept asking “are you an Elijah or Ahab?” I knew this message wasn’t just for me alone but for us all...
See there are 2 types of people when God sends His word. One (Ahab) says amen and continues life believing the word will come to pass. The other (Elijah) doesn’t just say amen but believes for that word to pass, he has a part to play...
The outcome speaks for itself. Elijah prays persistently and the rain falls. But something that God pointed out is that when you spend time with God, you are able to do what others can’t do...
Elijah covered the same distance with his feet that Ahab covered with a chariot 😳😳 I don’t know about you but that is just awesome! How does a man outrun a chariot? With God, He can outrun anything...
Which one will you be? An Ahab or an Elijah? Are you sitting comfortably like Ahab expecting someone to do your spiritual work for you whilst you rest? Or will you get into the place of prayer and pray until something happens? .
“Looking at my jar of stories, encounters and revelations, one that sticks out and one that I would say is close to my heart is culture. Not culture in the sense of the heritage or ethnic group I was born into. Not even the countries or societies I have lived in or where my family is from. No, but culture of which is the very DNA of my values, thought patterns and actions. I truly believe and would like to suggest that Kingdom Culture is one that all who calls Jesus Christ their Lord and Saviour belong to. A culture that is relevant and relatable to every race. The pattern of living and being that has not changed through the ages, even as the world has.” Read more at the blog on the culture that we need and should live out as Christians [link in bio] 💛 #theWIPmovement
Don't be fooled by counterfeits. Check the fruit. Watch their actions, and listen to the type of things they talk about or how they talk to you. A counterfeit will usually tell on themselves but pray for discernment anyways.Despite the counterfeits, i truly believe there are genuine men of God out there. Say this prayer "Lord I pray for a real man of God, who loves you more than anything, a man running after you, who's faithful and respectful, who will lead and love me unconditionally. Someone who will pursue me, someone I'm not confused about. God, I pray for discernment and clarity. I pray you remove any counterfeits or the wrong ones not sent by you. I want your best for me. In Jesus name i pray amen." 🙏🏽 He won't be perfect, but worth it... ❤️❤️
