Thingvellir is a favourite stop among travellers along the Golden Circle route. It has been a National Park in Iceland since 1930 and was named a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 2004. When Viking settlers arrived in the 10th century it was the site they chose as the meeting place of Althing, the world’s oldest parliament.
It doesn't feel like two years since we were on honeymoon in Reykjavik. In the four days we were there we got to fit in so much from relaxing at the Lagoon to snowmobiling on the glacier. I quickly fell in love with the whole place.
People that know me know there aren't many places that I would go back to, with a view the world is too big to keep seeing the same place but I will definitely go back here. Over and over again.
