Do you have neck pain? Here’s how to encourage your back to do more work to give the neck a break. Chronic pain does not typically come in lightning bolts but harmful tendencies over time that eventually get your attention via pain. #painfree#takecontrol#goodposture#thoracicspine
This is one of my favorite stretches that I always post about because it is so great for opening up the chest and shoulders. Try holding for 15 seconds on each side to help reverse shoulders that roll forward.
Becoming flexible enough to have your hands touch often takes daily stretching for a period of time, but in the meantime you can still incorporate it into your day. My best advice would be to grab a yoga strap, band, or you can even make something out of a fabric scrap that you can hold onto while you're working on your flexibility. Try to reach your hands closer and closer!
My shoulders used to roll severely forward, and this has helped a lot. Occasionally I still find myself with roller shoulders so I try to remember to keep my chest open and shoulders relaxed, back, and down. Happy stretching everyone! #caligirlgetsform#stretching#yoga#workout#exercise#back#posture#goodposture#backstretch#back#shoulders#cowface#standtall#textneck#millinnials#badposture#cervicalspine

Does your work require you to sit for long hours?
Your back and overall health are as important as that deadline you’ve got to beat. After all, the healthier you are, the more efficiently you’ll work.
The most simple and important thing you can do is interrupt the time you spend sitting or slumping in front of your computer or phone. Here are some useful tips:
.Put your hands behind your head and gently open your chest a few times each hour.
.Find excuses to stand and walk, e.g make a phone call while walking, use a small cup for water or coffee to prompt more trips to the kitchen
.Set an alarm to get up and stretch for 10 minutes at the top of every hour.
. And lastly, ensure your desk is set up ergonomically correct e.g make sure your computer monitor is at eye level and adjusting the position of your mouse so that your hand falls naturally on the desk where your arm is bent.
.How well do you care for your back? Leave a comment 👇

Tip No 3 for improving driving/passenger comfort... USE YOUR BACKREST! 👍
Lean your back into your backrest then bring your head back so it's over your shoulders. Use your headrest if its comfy for you.
SO, you've brought your seat forwards (tip 1), wiggled your butt back in the seat (tip 2) and now leant back so your posture is WAAYYY better while you drive. 👌
This means less load on your joints, so less discomfort- YAY 🎉
I touched on doing pelvic tilting exercises while you're in the car to keep your low back and hips moving, and in the next post I'll show you my fave driving exercise... to switch on some great posture support muscles, whether you're in the driver's or the passenger's seat. ☺️
Okay guys let’s talk posture. The most basic step in achieving glamour is good posture. Have you ever seen a facially attractive person who suddenly becomes unattractive because of bad posture? Yes yes that happens. There are many misconceptions to what a good posture it. For instance, a good posture is having your chest out . Can you try having your chest out and look in the mirror to see what it looks like. There you have it. With the advent of technology maintaining a good posture has become harder as majority of us has developed what is called “text neck” without knowing it. But with a little chin tuck every five minute we can overcome this. Cheers #posture#goodposture#developinggoodposture#maintainggoodposture#embracingglamour#glamour
The exercise pictured is called headweighting ☝️
What does it do?
By weighting the forehead area, it strengthens the muscles in the back of the neck, pulling the head back up to a proper position and reducing forward head posture 👌

Tip No 2 for comfort on the road is for Drivers and Passengers alike! 😊
You need to wiggle your butt right back in the seat...
This keeps your posture in much better alignment, taking strain off your back, hips and legs. 👍
Like with any sitting, if your 'tail' tucks under your postural muscles can't work very well and there's overload on your low back and hips.
Every half hour or so, do some pelvic tilting back and forth and side to side to move your back and hips while you sit, then wiggle your butt back in the seat again 😄
How'd you go trying Tip No 1 from yesterday to bring your seat forwards when driving? If you haven't done that yet, you really need to first, or it's not going to be comfy to wiggle your butt back 😉
Pain varies in intensity from tolerable to excruciating, mild to severe dependent on causative factors/agents, individual perception, stage of injury, degree of affectation on body tissues, medical intervention. Pain in the low back is one of the most commonly reported cases in clinics and a leading cause of disability. It could result from a number of factors including age, genetics, posture, certain disease conditions, obesity, physical inactivity. Posture is the most common predisposing factor of low back pain in young people with resolution of pain resolving almost by 80% in most individuals on physiotherapy, postural education and correction. In people with low back pain from other causative factors, the symptom (pain) which may co-exist with other symptoms can be managed with physiotherapy and lifestyle modification so that an affected individual is able to function independently and have a optimal quality of life. Physiotherapy is a very important part of medical management of individuals with complaints of back pain as medication most often relieve pain temporarily without resolving musculoskeletal affectation. Ergonomics, Goal-oriented and specific exercises, postural education & lifestyle modification in addition to electrotherapy are some modalities a physiotherapist would employ in achieving and maintaining healthy backs for clients. Good Posture...remember it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. I feel like everyone is looking for the perfect place or shape to put their body in. What’s the best back support or shoe? Meanwhile many of those people are having pains and or repetitive injuries. And while a good shoe can help, you can’t just give up and throw all your power over to the shoe or chair....you still want to be mindful of how you are breathing, what your balance feels like (fluid or rigid), whether you are straining to see one thing and one thing only or able to shift your focus with ease. Cultivating awareness of your breath and body takes practice. It’s not how we are usually taught to be in our bodies. That’s why I really wish more people would take Alexander Technique lessons. You can apply it to everything! Then you can start to learn more about your specific movement patterns and how to incorporate more mindfulness movement into your day! #shifttheconsciousness#DMme#alexandertechnique#goodposture#itsnotthedestination#itsthejourney#sometimesclichesjustwork#mindfulmovement#backcare#selfcare
🇬🇧Kandid Hofstetter travelled 90 kilometres on foot across ice and snow at the Lake Baikal Crossing in Russia. Temperatures reached depths of minus 30 degrees. Despite the icy cold weather and the enormous amount of physical effort, the Swiss-born traveller did not get cold feet during his expedition. What surprised him even more? His feet didn’t hurt once after the three-day tour. This comes down to the perfect shoe with integrated air cushioning. You can find the video on our YouTube channel.
Heading out on the open roads this holidays?
Keen for a few tips on IMPROVING YOUR COMFORT WHILE YOU DRIVE?
Tip No 1… for the Driver!
Bring your car seat as close as you can comfortably be. 😉
Contrary to what you might think, this allow you to relax your back into your backrest and have your elbows comfortably bent without overstretching to the wheel! 😄
Your back and neck will thankyou 👍
This might seem a little ‘too close for comfort’ at first, but try it out… and then watch out for tomorrows tips so you can combine all my tips for maximum driving comfort!
