This is one of my favorite stretches that I always post about because it is so great for opening up the chest and shoulders. Try holding for 15 seconds on each side to help reverse shoulders that roll forward.

Becoming flexible enough to have your hands touch often takes daily stretching for a period of time, but in the meantime you can still incorporate it into your day. My best advice would be to grab a yoga strap, band, or you can even make something out of a fabric scrap that you can hold onto while you're working on your flexibility. Try to reach your hands closer and closer!

Occasionally I still find myself with roller shoulders so I try to remember to keep my chest open and shoulders relaxed, back, and down. Your back and overall health are as important as that deadline you’ve got to beat. After all, the healthier you are, the more efficiently you’ll work.

The most simple and important thing you can do is interrupt the time you spend sitting or slumping in front of your computer or phone. Here are some useful tips:

.Put your hands behind your head and gently open your chest a few times each hour.
.
.Find excuses to stand and walk, e.g make a phone call while walking, use a small cup for water or coffee to prompt more trips to the kitchen
.
.Set an alarm to get up and stretch for 10 minutes at the top of every hour.
.
. And lastly, ensure your desk is set up ergonomically correct e.g  make sure your computer monitor is at eye level and adjusting the position of your mouse so that your hand falls naturally on the desk where your arm is bent.

Lean your back into your backrest then bring your head back so it's over your shoulders. Use your headrest if its comfy for you.
SO, you've brought your seat forwards (tip 1), wiggled your butt back in the seat (tip 2) and now leant back so your posture is WAAYYY better while you drive. 👌
This means less load on your joints, so less discomfort- YAY 🎉
I touched on doing pelvic tilting exercises while you're in the car to keep your low back and hips moving, and in the next post I'll show you my fave driving exercise... to switch on some great posture support muscles, whether you're in the driver's or the passenger's seat. ☺️

Good Posture...remember it’s not the destination, it’s the journey. I feel like everyone is looking for the perfect place or shape to put their body in. What’s the best back support or shoe? Meanwhile many of those people are having pains and or repetitive injuries. And while a good shoe can help, you can’t just give up and throw all your power over to the shoe or chair....you still want to be mindful of how you are breathing, what your balance feels like (fluid or rigid), whether you are straining to see one thing and one thing only or able to shift your focus with ease. Cultivating awareness of your breath and body takes practice. It’s not how we are usually taught to be in our bodies. That’s why I really wish more people would take Alexander Technique lessons. You can apply it to everything! Despite the icy cold weather and the enormous amount of physical effort, the Swiss-born traveller did not get cold feet during his expedition. What surprised him even more?
