I was in the field for Veteran's Day, but better late than never... To all of the men and women who have at one point sworn to defend the ideals of our country, at the cost of their own life if necessary... there are no words to express my gratitude. A thousand times, thank you.
And to all those brothers and sisters who currently find themselves downrange, you are not forgotten. Come home safe.

Our ride taps out at 65 and rattles aggressively above 15 on a dirt road. Drivers pass us, probably assuming we're old people. The horn and speedometer don't work and we even broke down a couple times on this road. All fun in the name of adventure! @ourearthstory
And though it goes against that American ambition and destiny you've be so trained to follow, not every mountain is meant to be conquered. Some places deserve to be untouched and untainted by the human footprint.
It's easy to forget how small and fragile you are when you're constantly trotting on flat and concrete surfaces, but when you're in the middle of the forest and at the edge of a mountain, thoughts of human frailty rattle the body with angst.
I feel so lucky that I get to do social media for a living. But then for myself — I’m always struggling with what images to post. Do I post too many of my child? Do I post too many of snowy Tahoe? Do I repost too much? Do they fit in line with my IG “strategy”? Are they beautiful? Are they helpful? But my strategy has always been to post images that I love. And that’s really it. And I love this one. (I’m also trying to post one image a day this week to see how it goes. So stay tuned.) 📱
Upon closer inspection you will notice that the moving leaves you see during your hikes are in fact carried by an veritable army of leaf-cutter ants. These ants will bring the leaves back to their underground castle for processing sometimes a walk as far as 1/4mile!
Ask me your van life questions! What do you want to know? @trillozuna and I are still learning everyday but want to encourage more people to break from the norm and have a life filled with freedom. 🚐@ourearthstory
