The ricefeeding feast may include a variety of items, but the sweetened rice kheer is the star dish.
Apart from the kheer, fried vegetables, dals, curries ,ghee and flavoured rice are some of the food items served during ricefeeding ceremony. Some communities also include meat ,egg and fish preparations on the menu.

Manaslu Circuit Trek DAY 13: quiet day around BIMTANG (3590 m).
I open my eyes and I see it’s becoming clear outside 🌅. I look at my watch: it’s 6 a.m. I can’t believe I slept for 11 hours 😴, despite the altitude and the cold!!
As we were one day in advance from our original itinerary, and we did not need an additional acclimatization day before the pass, we have the luxury of a quiet day 😌around Bimtang. And we are happy about this because, after the epic day 12, with many hours spent on the trail, almost 700 meters up and 1500 down, and strong emotions shaking our souls, we don’t feel like hiking seven hours and going down still 1300 more meters to Tilche.
So day 13 is going to be a cool day 😎. Or rather, a cool day by Tashi’s standards 😂. Which means we end up hiking for more than 4 hours and going up and down several hundred meters 😂😂. We first climb to a promontory behind our guesthouse, from where we can see the whole of Bimtang. It’s not really a proper village but rather a collection of colorful guesthouses 🏠, in complete isolation and surrounded by amazing mountains (we could not see this properly the day before due to the fog ☹️). Then we hike up to a viewpoint from where we can see Ponker Lake. This hike is not easy ☺️ but the view of the mountains ⛰, with a big glacier on one side and Ponker Lake on the other, makes it much more worthwhile than staying at the lodge the whole day eating apple pie 🥧. And yes, we have the apple pie, too 😃, after a late lunch of delicious momos. I never drink beer as I don’t really like it, but this time I can’t resist taking a sip of Danielle’s Gorkha 🍺. In the label, it says “dedicated to the brave”. I think we deserve it‼️ #nepal#nepal8thwonder#asia#manaslu#bimtang#gorkha#ponkerlake#mountains#hiking#hike#trekking#trek#manaslutrek#manaslucircuittrek#lovenepal#nepaltrek#lppathfinders#lonelyplanet#nepalmemories#lovehiking#iammissadventure
