I gotta start posting my hobby progress the day of again! It’s hard when you get up at 5:30 in the morning to go to the gym, people! Enough pity for me. Well, spoilers, perhaps a bit more. Yesterday’s Hobby Streak Day 7 consisted of some lunch break reinforcements of Deathshroud, ready to rock only without weapons. I needed to have them on the table last night for a game against my buddy Dustin with his Tallarns. It didn’t matter that the Deathshroud hadn’t been equipped with any weapons, because those motherfuckers never made it into combat! They stood around with the Lord of Contagion looking cool while everyone just ran away from them. *sigh* I can see why these guys are good for relaxed play but get overlooked by the tournament circuit. I think I’ll clear them out of my competitive list along with the LoC to make room for another Winged Daemon Prince. #DeathGuard#DaemonsofNurgle#Nurgle#GrandfatherNurgle#ILoveNurgle#Unholy7#WIP#30MinutesaDay#Warhammer#Warhammer40k#GamesWorkshop#GW#Microblog#OnlyWar#PaintingWarhammer#HobbyProgress#HobbyStreakDay7
I love assembling tanks. It’s always been a special treat when assembling 40k kits to put together a tank. Their is something about their weight, the way their chunky mass fits in your hand, it just takes you back to a childhood place. Like, playing with trucks, or whatever. Anyway, I finished the first Plagueburst Crawler today. This was the first serious GW kit that I’ve assembled since about 2011. It’s amazing how much things have changed! A kit like this used to be a nightmare! This one practically assembled itself. I left the dozer blade off for painting purposes. Before I put any primer on it I want to green stuff a relief of my Death Guard vectorum symbol and probably add in some guitar string piping to enhance the Plague Spitters. Back to the hobby grind tomorrow, when I’ll return to painting my Plaguebearers. #DeathGuard#DaemonsofNurgle#Nurgle#GrandfatherNurgle#ILoveNurgle#Unholy7#WIP#30MinutesaDay#Warhammer#Warhammer40k#GamesWorkshop#GW#Microblog#OnlyWar#PaintingWarhammer#HobbyProgress#HobbyStreakDay5
A tale of two gamers. I can’t remember how it started. I was scrolling through IG and I saw that someone, I don’t think I even followed him at the time, wanted to sell their Death Guard half of Dark Imperium. By day I work in shipping so I had this half-baked plan that I could get real cheap shipping in from the UK. I hit up @beardy40k and proposed that he sell me the DG, over here in Arizona, the United States, not knowing me from Adam, and I would arrange shipment through DHL. “It’ll be so easy!” I said. Anyway, after weeks of exchanging PayPal info, addresses, bill of import, dozens of messages on the IM, @beardy40k could have been forgiven for thinking me a Nigerian general with a large sum of money he needed access to. A less patient, forgiving man would have chucked the whole project in the bin. But he stuck it out. He even fronted the cost of the postage when we gave up on DHL and put the package in the good ol’ Royal Mail. (I paid him back, but jeez, I felt like - how can he trust me, this must all seem like a very long con!) Anyway, at last the package arrived today, filled to the brim with plague infested heretics ready to burn the galaxy. They are in perfect condition and everything was there including this hand written note on a great postcard that now adorns the door to my refrigerator so that I can think of Nurgle every time I reach for a beer. I love 40k so much. I love Instagram and the way it has allowed me to make friends in places I never would have imagined possible. I don’t meet trolls, just amazing people who love the same things I do. @beardy40k I hope we are able to meet in real life someday. I hope we can share a pint and a game of Warhammer. One last time my friend: THANK YOU!!! 🤘🏼💀🎲🖤 #DeathGuard#DaemonsofNurgle#Nurgle#GrandfatherNurgle#ILoveNurgle#Unholy7#WIP#30MinutesaDay#Warhammer#Warhammer40k#GamesWorkshop#GW#Microblog#OnlyWar#PaintingWarhammer#HobbyProgress#HobbyStreakDay4#ATaleofTwoGamers
So I got the little bro interested in the addictive mess that is our hobby!
Wants to start a Nurgle army, the mother got him the Demons starter box and I've gotten him the base colours and shades he'll need and I'm going to paint up the Dark Imperium Death Guard for him too so he's got a nice mix of mortal(ish) and demon units and gives him a go at trying AOS and 40K if he wants too!
Well, finally got my son to sleep, snuck down into the dungeon and finished up the ledbelcher and just started basing the bronze/gold. Of course, he woke up as I started so I hurried to snap these pics before I went up. I paint in the “fast” method, or as I call it, batch painting. I’m painting all 20 #poxwalkers at the same time. When I was 15 and first got into #warhammer40k I would paint a single mini at a time. I also would leave it completely disassembled so I could paint every minute detail. I’m 34 now and I haven’t painted in close to 15 years or so... so I guess in my elder years, I’ve sophisticated my ways 🤣 #deathguard#deathguard40k#dadhammer40k#gamesworkshop @warhammerofficial #nurgle#grandfathernurgle
