Mama's Bakery is easily one of our favorites in San Diego! They have a very vegan-friendly menu and THE BEST grape leaves! They tend to run out mid-day, so come for an early lunch or for dinner if you find yourself in North Park! We started chowin' down before remembering to take a picture. 😝💕✨

This isn't your typical transformation picture 😊but it has a lot to do with my journey. It's also just typical, food on the plate and let's go.
Growing up in a Mediterranean family we generally ate healthy. Like most kids we played outside for hours on end, so we were always active. My parents and even my mom till this day does not eat anything processed, I think she may have drank some soda/pop a few times in her 84 years but that's it. For someone her age God Bless her the ailment she suffers from is arthritis. Notice how I didn't say only? Because arthritis is debilitating and I know this because like my mom I suffer from it too and like so many others we all suffer from some sort of debilitating pain (s) whether it's physically or emotional pain is pain and very hard on our bodies. So much love to all who struggle and work through your challenges❤️it's not easy, I know.
I've never been a fan of red meat, chicken, fish, eggs. I would eat them but I would get sick after I ate them. I didn't drink milk much cause I would get sick after I drank it (I'm 5'9 btw I think I grew ok) 😉. I'm medicating myself with plant 🌱 based foods now because my guts honestly could not take it anymore. The physical pain was awful and it led me to having more anxiety attacks. As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression I didn't realize that certain foods mostly dairy would bring on more anxiety. So I made some food choice changes, cut out some stuff went back to eating like my parents did in the old days if that's still possible I'm going to keep trying.
