Practice gratitude daily and you will become aware that there's blessings everyday. Today, I'm grateful for soul friendships. I'm grateful for my doula path. I'm grateful for inspiration for my business. ♡
What are you grateful for?
Luxury things I can't live without:
1. Monthly facials at @infinitymedspaandwellness

3. Super comfy workout clothes
4. Weekly visits to the chiro
5. My luxury, non-toxic hair care products to keep my hair on FLEEK 😍 24/7.
What are some of your luxury non-negotiables?
PS- if you don't have any maybe it's time you #TREATYOSELF !
PPS- CLEARLY you can tell my top priority is anti-aging related 💁🏼
Today's post is 10 Things you don't know about me as part of the series of prompts from the #makersgetreal challenge from @bundlehandmade ⠀
OK. Wow. 10 things? Oy. How about if I share 5 things and see where we are?⠀
1. I live in Virginia Beach, VA and went to school in Chesapeake. This week is our 35th Homecoming reunion and I'm going. I have a friend flying in from Nashville that I haven't seen in over 10 years so I'm really looking forward to that!⠀
2. I miss the 1980s. I know times weren't perfect, but the music was so good and there was a sense of joy and optimism that is absent in today's world. People poke fun at the hair and the leg warmers, but we were always smiling back in those days. ⠀
3. I started knitting as a way to feel closer to my best friend who was dying from cancer at the time. She had metastatic breast cancer and succumbed to the disease almost 5 years after diagnosis. The last year and a half was really rough for her and she rediscovered her knitting and got me interested as well. I still think of her every time I make a stitch.⠀
4. My craft space is actually my garage! I've fixed it up to be a super nice space, but it's a garage nonetheless. It's intimidating to share that when so many people have expansive homes with beautiful offices and craft rooms.⠀
5. I'm in the Master Gardener program for my city RN. We finish our classroom work in about a month and then I need to earn 50 hours of volunteer time to graduate as a full master gardener. I had to apply and be selected for the program, so I'm excited to be in. It's really an honor!⠀
Ok, so if you've read that far, THANK YOU!! I think that's all I can share for today. Group therapy was not a fun thing for me as I'm a private person, but I'm participating to the best of my ability! Leave me a comment about one of your secrets!⠀
MANTRA MONDAY, "Life is for my evolution. Thank you!"
For me, the most powerful mantra I have (and I use it every day) is "Thank you!"
This humble expression of gratitude is a reminder that the point of living is a deepening understanding of what it means to be human. With all of life's thorns and flowers, I know that each experience can either create resentment or an expansion of love.
When life stings with the thorns of failure or loss, I don't always want to choose love. I want to stomp my feet, raise my fist, and tell the world what's wrong with it. But, I know, without question, that my only true source of power is love. Without it, all the indignation in the universe will not create change. It will simply create more contempt.
We can stand and speak up for truth, share our journeys, our fears, and our talents from love and change the world. But we must also remember that life is not and never was working against you. It is yearning for your evolution, cheering you on with a heart of eternal fire and vision for your peace.
Put this mantra in your pocket this week and see how it shifts your perception. Share if you are inspired to do so. #mantramonday
Three journals i keep!!
I have one I fill with positive quotes, things I pick up on instagram and Pinterest or by my favourite authors/poets. Its one of my favourites. I was never good at being positive for the future. Or positive at all, it was stolen from me during the darkness of depression, and even after the worst had passed, negitivity clouded my everyday thinking and emotions. Now having a bank of positivity and strength at my finger tips really helps those bad thoughts.
The second is a gratitude journal. Gratitude is something i talk about alot on here, and i practice it too! I try to write three things/people im thankful for each day and why! Its a super easy exercise which takes me, yeat again, out of that negitive headspace.
The third ive just started, its full of goals and dreams. Some daily, some for the near future and some for even further! Like solo traveling! Some are as simple as"brush teeth twice a day".
When im getting it rough i spill it onto pages. Let the words bleed onto the paper instead of out of me. Tonight Im super triggered. The #metoo hashtag bringing back revolting memories and hoplessness at how many have been effected. So Ive not been very active today! This is okay! I got to protect myself and my own headspace. I stand in solidity with you all. Hopefully together when can attack the attitudes that lead too toxic masculinity (i know its not only men who are predictors but society perpetuating social graces that are not acceptable does not help!
Tonight to deal with these thoughts Im going to dive into my journals and hopefully find some strenght.
YOUR HEAD MATTERS. Reach out if you need too. Cry if you need too. Take a deep breathe and keep fighting💖 #westandtogether
We were created for gratitude and worship. In our sin, we fail at this miserably. Jesus died a death on the cross, redeeming us in spite of our chronic ingratitude. And if we can really grab hold of the truth of that amazing grace, we will have no choice but to live our lives in continual thanksgiving.⠀
That's what true gratitude is all about. It's about remembering our gifts, yes. But more than that, it's about looking to the One who gives salvation. ⠀
Check out the latest post on the blog if you missed the Grace in Color Facebook Live Show last week. And be on the lookout tomorrow as we work on setting up a Gratitude Journal together!⠀
Every morning or evening write down at three to five things you are grateful for to create a positive mindset, which will assist you in reaching your goals. It does not need to be anything earth-shattering. Maybe you are grateful for your dog or that you can call an Uber on a cold day. You can even download one of my favorite apps MOJO which allows you to easily keep track of your daily entrees and include photos.
This is challenging me right now!! I’m not frustrated.
I’m not feeling out of balance.
I’m feeling more motivation than ever before, when creative energy flows into me I feel so happy and good and as if I am doing all I can to keep up with it, because all this energy is so releasing, like things in me that I felt were there finally have words to come out me and I can do more than feel by describing what’s overflowing from my soul, whatever has unlocked and unleashed today was needed in big way, but just the last few days I kept feeling as if I knew something was coming that I couldn’t describe, but I felt last week that I had done what I could and worked hard and felt like I was waiting. Constantly waiting. Yet, I knew change comes and flows in our lives when we think we have done all we can, BAM! All the sudden out of nowhere I’m being guided to change things, to see that something was not working and what I previously thought was the motivation to get me to where I needed to be, though it’s frustrating to move through yet more changes it feels really good, in a big big way! Because all in all What was created is an amazing foundation for more, things never stay the same. Shifts and changes happen to place us right where we need to be, sometimes when we don’t understand that is ok because soon enough clarity will come. I’m very grateful! I knew something wasn’t right. I’m grateful for the knowing and guidance, my intuition is never wrong, I just don’t always know at the time and have learned that clarity comes eventually and then the healing! I want change in my life. I’m grateful that when I can’t see what needs to be done next or what will create the highest vibration in life is Divinely guided and the next step flows in at the right time. It’s never about looking inward and judging yourself or being negative. So if you do that when things don’t work as you thought, don’t because you are wonderful and you have so much important purpose here and you are worth loving yourself through it all 💗💗💗#selfloveclub#unconditionally#unconditionallove ❤️ #nextsteps#changeme#positivechange#clarityofmind#psychicmedium#intuition#archangels#gratitudejournal
Brendon Burchard says...”I would rather be a hot mess of action, a make-it-happen-learn-on-the-fly kind of person than a perfectly organized coward”. #merightnow 😆 It’s noon on a Monday and I have yet to shower for the day 😂🙄🤷♀️. Sometimes I have my shit together...other times I sleep in because I rely on my dog to wake me up (like today & she wasn’t on time 😂😂😂). The day hasn’t started like I’ve intended it to but i WANT to be committed to my goals daily...I want to be that person. Some days it is HARD to honour that commitment but I remind myself that I don’t need to be perfect or look pretty to make the difference I am striving for 🙌🏼🙏🏼😊. Be a HOT MESS today 👊🏼
Change is inevitable, growth is intentional!⠀
Such wise words. Your #spiritualgrowth and #personalgrowth must be intentional.⠀
Ever changing, ever growing and learning is my goal!🏆⠀
Sometimes it seems that accepting a change is really challenging however, if it is inevitable why do we resist it so much? It seems logical to see the change as a growth opportunity and learn through it?🤔⠀
Try connecting with your spirit and trusting yourself though the experience so that growth can occur.⠀
Let me know your how it works for you. ⠀

It makes sense that all our personal problems and the worlds problems need to be solved and all this bad stuff grabs our attention we must take time to focus on the good!
Did you know 40% of our happiness comes from how we choose to live and approach circumstances in our lives?
This month we will consciously focus on noticing moments of beauty in our day, something we have done for a stranger or a stranger has done for us. We will acknowledge our appreciation of things, experiences and people around us. The idea of thankfulness seems simple right?
The fact is that who people actively practice #gratitude are happier- not to mention healthier than those who dont.
That is where this months journaling comes in along with making time to care for each our ourselves, fitness and nutritionally.....we have compiled #dailyjournaling activities at the end of each day to help keep happiness at the front of your mind as we progress from Halloween thru Thanksgiving.........

(New York City, USA) “Yes, I would send a thank you card to myself because I feel like we don't tell ourselves that we did a good job at the end of the day, every day, enough. And I feel like people need that--like, assurance that we did a good job." Jessica Lee said, smiling confidently as she tucked her hands into her pockets. "So lately, because my sisters are in college now, they have to go through that whole financial aid process, or transferring school process, and because I went through that, they always expect me to help.” She said, her voice taking on a darker tone as a sad look crossed her features. “I mean, for example, my parents also expect me to help them, and so I'm doing all this, but I haven't received a "Thank You", or "thanks for doing this for me" and so I feel like they're not grateful for all of the things that I've done.”
She sighed heavily, but mustered the courage to continue, a look of doubt flickering across her face before she said, “Even if it's just like--it sounds petty, but--they EXPECT me to do it. I don't know, it just gets me pretty upset that I'm doing this for them but no one says "Thank You" to me, so I feel like I should send a thank you card to myself. I don't know if that sounds selfish, but, yeah.”
Jessica lifted a finger to indicate that she wanted to add an extra thought. “But, I feel like we need that, as a community, as a society. No one tells us enough, especially after elementary school, no one tells you you did a good job.”
Stumbled upon this pretty thing during a walk the other day. A lot of things have "gone wrong" during our move process which has hindered my ability to feel settled in. The electricity went out, our table literally lost a leg while we were using it, our heater was broken, and now our washing machine won't drain. That's what you get for living in a charming 1800s house with "character," I suppose. ; )
The situation is almost humorous but, at the same time, has whittled at my patience little by little. Gratitude is a difficult practice. But moments of beauty like this monarch butterfly make it a bit easier. .
Okay, thanks for making it through my little ramble. Hope this little guy lifts your spirits a bit too! Happy Monday, friends. : )
Good morning and happy Boss's Day! Since I am my own boss, I am treating myself to a great early morning core workout, a healthy delicious breakfast, and a cup of coffee with coconut oil while I work from home. 😀🍓🤤🤸♀️ So, should I send myself flowers or give myself a card too? 🤣🤣🤣
Every morning as I wake up to get ready for work, I open the blinds to let in the sunlight, and say to myself that I'm grateful for another day. If the weather is nice, I'll add that I'm grateful for nice weather. If my spouse happens to be off that day, I'll kiss their forehead as they continue sleeping, and add that I'm grateful for them. This is something I've done consistently for a few years now.
One of my former therapists swore to me that keeping a gratitude journal would change the way I saw my world, that if I regularly looked for reasons to be grateful, I'd find more and more.
I won't lie and say that I've kept a journal, but the practice of starting my days from a place of thanks, something positive, has helped me in profound ways.
Psychologists from the University of Miami and the UC Davis, did a study in which they asked three different groups of participants to write about things that happened during the previous week. One group was asked to write about something they were grateful for. One was asked to write about something that happened that they didn't like. The final group was asked to write about something that happened without any focus on whether it was good or bad.
After ten weeks, the group that focused on gratitude were more optimistic and felt better about their lives. They also were physically healthier than the other participants. They saw the doctor less and exercised more.
Could consistently finding something to be grateful improve your life? Maybe. It sure couldn’t hurt.
Do you ever have times that you look over at your kids and realize how thankful you are that you are their mom? I will be the first one to tell you that life isn't easy... I'm not a perfect mom... I'm not perfect at anything to be honest.... but I am very thankful for the times that I take to just stop and be a part of my kids lives. 💗
Last week I took the week off to hang with my 2 kiddo's during fall break... and while today, i'm sitting her realizing ALL of the things that didn't get done and honestly, a little stressed... i'm looking at this picture and realizing that none of that matters... these kids... these moments where I build memories are the times that matter the most. 👏
So today, as you are thinking about the crazy week ahead... take a moment and be thankful for what you do have. Write down 3 things that you are grateful for... and just let them sink in!
This month I'm going to focus on Gratitude and being Thankful. In all of my challenges, this is going to be our theme, because I think we need to take time to be thankful and grateful for all of the amazing things that are in our lives. I would love for you to join me.. either in my free challenge that starts in November, or in my 4 week challenge that starts next week. I think this will be a really important month... in more ways than we will even realize... let's work on reminding ourselves of the good things in our lives.
