Coming back to LA each year reminds me of all I left behind when I decided to move to Toronto to pursue love. While freezing my ass off in sub 25 degree Celsius temperature, it's hard not to feel a tinge of regret about my life decisions. Yet, while walking around Griffith Observatory this past December, I couldn't help but feel how ironic it is that I spend more time outdoors now that I live in Toronto than at any point of my life when I lived in LA. While in LA, my life was apartment -> to car -> to work -> to car -> to apartment, and I barely spent time outside other than to get to my car or to take the short walk to wherever I'm going to eat lunch from my office. I barely explored the city; I didn't even know Griffith Observatory existed until 2 years before I left the city. Since I've moved to Toronto, I've grown to appreciate the outdoors more than ever before, and I can't help but regret that I didn't explore more of California when I lived there. It's funny - I feel like I'm going to explore more of Los Angeles (and California) now that I don't live there than I did during 14 years living in the city. And for that, I'm so glad I left. #latergram
