Growing an onion in the kitchen until it's got some roots to go outside
When my little one is a bit older I'm going to teach her how vegetables grow and we're going to do this again together. I really don't want her to be a fussy eater like me, who didn't eat an onion until about 16!
Thanks to @lanasuhova for the advice on what to do with my sprouting onion that would have probably gone in the bin otherwise. .
Made some space for the turnips & baby carrots growing in my balcony garden, My kitchen garden is turning into a jungle, while my mint garden is just starting to bud.
Hi instagram! I'm doing a small experiment. A lot of you loved the small allotment themed embroidery hoops I made earlier in the year whilst I was procrastinating on the actual allotment work front. I made a second set of them to see if anyone would be interested in buying such things, so these three are FOR SALE. Three 5" hoops, messy backsides still on display, ready to hang in your home/shed. I'm asking £50 for all three including UK shipping (if you're international let me know. Last International shipping date before Christmas is the 10th).
The kids were so excited this morning to get out and dig up our first potatoes (almost as exciting as Christmas) and plant our zucchinis, pumpkin and basil... (abit late whoops) but we also made up some natural bug/slug deterant as our silverbeet looks like someone's had a feast on it already 🙈🙈 we also made up a concoction of garlic and chilli in a separate bottle. Let's hope some rain and some natural goodness will help our little garden babies grow 🌱🌱🌱
