Mina and Denn card #023 : Garruk's Horde
Playing with the top card of your deck revealed is a recurring theme. Instead of the focus being lands it is creatures with Garruk's Horde on the battlefield allowing you to play the card on top of your deck.
Mina and Denn card #018 : Omnath, Locus of Rage
In battle for Zendikar Omnath truly became angry. Without help, it’s a 7-mana 5/5 with no evasion that Bolts something when it dies. But we will focus on his landfall ability ofcourse.
Mina and Denn card #017 : Omnath, Locus of Mana
While on the subject of Sakiko, Omnath would like to join in being one of the core elements of this deck.
Omnath, the "flickering heart," is a divine manifestation of the wild and chaotic mana of Zendikar, an elemental being that can be found in some incarnation in many creation myths of the plane.
Mina and Denn card #015 : Radha, Heir to Keld
Her name was Radha, but that was the only bit of information he could easily skim from her mind. The rest of her thoughts were guarded and violent and would require significant effort to pry out. From the few seconds he’d been watching her and reading her, he knew several things for certain. She was a warrior. She was proud. She was physically formidable.
She was also beautiful, the most welcome sight Teferi had seen in quite a long time. Mana flowed to and from her so freely that she glowed and sparkled to his ascended eyes. She was like a fresh, bright flower among dry weeds, a clear mountain spring rising from an otherwise flat and featureless desert.
Mina and Denn card #014 : Ulvenwald Hydra
Ulvenwald Hydra's power and toughness are each equal to the number of lands you control. And when Ulvenwald Hydra enters the battlefield, you may search your library for a land card and put it onto the battlefield tapped.
Mina and Denn card #009 : Nissa, Nature's Artisan
In her original origin, Nissa was born in the jungles of Bala Ged and led an unremarkable childhood. That is, until her spark ignited while she was still very young.
This might not be the best version of Nissa to add to a deck like this, but remember I am keeping my budget and flavor in mind as well. Her second ability works nicely with Landfall and her ultimate can go a long way too if you manage to get there.
Mina and Denn card #007 : Blasphemous Act
The only things that can survive Blasphemous Act are creatures with more toughness than 13 and creatures that are indestructible, have protection from Red, and/or creatures that can be regenerated before Blasphemous Act resolves.
Mina and Denn card #006 : Genesis Wave
A powerful and interesting card. If a card in your library has no mana symbols in its upper right corner, because it’s a land card, for example, its converted mana cost is 0. Such cards can always be put onto the battlefield with Genesis Wave.
Mina and Denn card #005 : Mul Daya Channelers
While on the subject of Mul Daya, let's talk about this card. The Mul Daya are one of the three Elven nations in Zendikar. The seat of Mul Daya power lies in the mysterious, deadly, fetid jungles of Bala Ged.
With this card out we play with the top card of our deck revealed and Mul Daya Channelers get's an extra ability when that card is a creature or land card.
Mina and Denn card #004 : Into the Wilds
A great card keeping Landfall in mind with a nice bit of Zendikar flavor text. Also note that it just says land. It works with shock lands, speed lands, check lands, filter lands, fetch lands, man lands, etc.
Mina and Denn card #003 : Kazandu Refuge
Zendikar brought a cycle of uncommon lands that came into play tapped but gave you 1 life instead of losing 1 life like a previous cycle did. Great cards with a budget in mind.
Mina and Denn card #002 : Asceticism
This enchantment will give all our creatures hexproof and the ability to regenerate at the cost of only two mana. I do hope we get to see more of Thrun en Melira in a return to New Phyrexia.
Mina and Denn card #001 : Mina and Denn, Wildborn
The commander (or commanders) of my next deck are Mina and Denn, Wildborn. A great card from Oath of the Gatewatch.
This pair allows you to play a additional land on each of your turns. And for two mana you may return a land to your hand and give a creature trample until end of turn.
Mina and Denn do not have to be tapped for the second ability to work. The land you return to your hand also does not need to be a basic land.
Let's explore this deck!
Greenweaver Mina and her twin brother Denn lead the last of the Mul Daya into an uncertain future... The next deck I will unravel has been chosen and the commander is Mina and Denn, Wildborn. Or should I say commanders because they are twins?
A red and green deck based around landfall and with Zendikar flavor in mind. Mina and Denn are truly made alive thanks to artist Izzy.
Hey everyone, I will have covered half of my Reaper King EDH deck soon and I need your help picking out the next deck I will put on Instagram. Please pick one of the following commanders:
Asmira: My latest deck only using cards with the old frame. Making use of the graveyard in green and white with a healing theme.
Teferi: My favorite and most expensive deck when it comes to card value. A tough blue control deck.
Mina and Denn: A Gruul deck based around landfall using a less popular commander with flavor relating to Zendikar.
Isperia: A judgement deck with a lot of Azorius flavor and game changing cards making every EDH game a little different.
Please let me know in the comments which deck you would like to see next!
Since I was complaining about guild representation and Azor has shown up in Ixalan I've remembered these little pieces from my collection.
During the Return to Ravnica block Dragon Maze set you picked a guild and you'd have a secret ally guild and they would give you the guild cards for both.
I know a lot of people didn't care and were looking for the guild pins more but I was one of the ones who wanted a full guild card set. They do nothing though, they just look pretty in my binder. I went out of my way to get them though.
I see a few kinds of collectors. Those who collect foils, those who collect parts, those who collect $value and those who collect for fun. This was definitely a fun thing to collect but once again thry do nothing, I have them sitting in front of my Guild Signets in my binder.
Wouldn't trade them though.
