Real life #GTD and #paperless living often involves moments of disorganization and paper. Like today and this minor mess I had accumulated. Life is busy. Paper comes in quicker than I can process it. I jot down notes on whatever paper is close by. I end up with a wad of paper in my purse. I don’t like it. Here is what I did about it that is different than what I see others do. This morning, traffic was light and I made it to a meeting at a restaurant 15 min early. So, I pulled out the receipts and papers that had accumulated in my purse, pulled out Scannable, and digitized all of this into #Evernote in a snap. Now, all that paper is in either my receipts notebook in Evernote ready for my bookkeeper to do her magic with, or in my Evernote in box ready for me to parse into my projects and action steps during my weekly review. And, in the meantime, ALL of it - even the handwritten notes - are searchable and retrievable in Evernote should I need them. Just a glimpse into how I REALLY work every day with Evernote. (And...all those papers are now in the trash and my meeting hasn’t started yet. Feels so good!).
My goal for the week - to be more present and more focused in what I am doing at that moment. I struggle with trying to do too many things at once. What I am now realizing is that while you may be able to do it all, no one can do it all well.
