Not usually one for self-admiration and certainly not one to show my body, but since I am trying to keep on track and get right into this #fitness thing I may as well chuck in a progress photo especially as I have slightly eased off this past month!
This is the difference between February 2017 (right) when I was still feeling really low, 7 months after the end of a long term relationship. I was already a #sometimesrunner and #gymgoer but a fantastic GP suggested I go on a programme with Edinburgh Leisure, which aims to help improve mental health and wellbeing. I'd just joined another gym, so decided not to use the resource, but hit training a bit harder.
The left image was taken in August, after taking Pilates, Pump and the usual running. It was the day of the Great Aberdeen Run. Since then I have run another half marathon, have had the good fortune to win a month of personal training, then took out another month to build up my confidence with strength training. I don't just want to be a skinny minnie, but to be strong. Physically and mentally.
I feel like I have moved mountains.
I know it may not fix everything, but when you have low to moderate mental health concerns, I can totally recommend exercise.
Physical change isn't everything, but man is it rewarding. 💪💪 Someone commented on a postie mine and said "be proud of being proud of you". I can't get that thought out of my head. I am so damn proud of my changes- both mind and body.

요즘 아침에 운동하면 나밖에 없어서 기구들을 마음껏 쓸 수 있다. 오늘 어깨 운동하다가 주변을 보니 깜짝놀랐다ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 덤벨컬랙터가 돼버렸다...ㄷㄷ
So in the morning, I usually have the whole gym to myself.(one of the reasons why i go in the mornin)
I was doin shoulders, tryin to concentrate on all the three heads of the shoulders and all, but i found out after a little bit that, I too have become one of those arragont dumbell collectors in the gym. But dont worry, i only did this because I had the whole place to myself.
