Some of the details from the hubbo’s #v8940 jacket which I finished recently 😍 Making coats is something I really enjoy, I love the challenge of creating something complicated step by step. I’m in the process of cutting out a few more coats, but I forgot that not only do you need to cut a zillion pieces of outer fabric, you also need to cut the lining pieces AND the interfacing too! And then I need to affix all the interfacing to the outer pieces 😫😫😫 So much to do before I can even start the actual sewing! ⏱✂️
Game changer! One of the most fun parts of being a craftsman, is creating the actual tools of the trade. Sometimes it’s a jig, sometimes a pattern, sometimes and blade or a burnisher...in this case it’s these deer skin finger covers. Some projects really bite that needle, and my ol’ roper gloves are about shot, so I took a moment to work up these little assistants, and boy are they a dandy at the job!! Simple but effective. If you’re in the craft game, I’d love to see and hear about your favorite custom tools or tricks...tag em #inventyourtools !! . . .

Get your loved one something that will last. All of my leather goods are 100% handmade with old fashioned tools. Everything is done with my two hands, from cutting to stitching. Cheers!
